I've just discovered your channel Gareth so I'm busy watching all your videos. Loved this one and all the history along the way. Being a native of North east England myself, maybe this route is one I need to do.
I cycled this with my wife earlier this year after first cycling Hadrian's Cycleway to get us east. I knew a sprinkling about the Reivers but wish I had seen this first. Such an interesting history and fabulous part of the country. Thanks so much for posting.
Hi Gareth just subbed your channel and running through your vids ...resident of Carlisle but came from weardale ..co durham.. cracking vids ironically I dropped into blanchland yesterday with my eldest daughter on our way home ...who liked the place...atb..👍
Really enjoyed this video after watching your Tyne River video lot's of great history very interesting stuff and a great bike ride I normally wildcamp but if I start doing long distances bike rides I might start using camp sites a nice shower and pub lunch sounds good 🤣🤣 have subscribed atvb Jimmy 😎😎👍👍
I think I only had two hike-a-bike sections, one of which (nr Caldbeck at 26:10) I couldn’t have done on an unladen MTB - gravel bike runs much faster on hard pack gravel and roads.
Really enjoyed this one. I’m thinking about doing that route my self next year. Some rough trails on the this route I see. Maybe a MTB is more suitable? Thanks.
Very interesting film. Rumour has it my ancestors were border raiders based around Northumberland. Would you say that drop bars suit this bike better than flat ones ?
