The space between your toptube and the frame bag is a great place to put your tent poles.

Similar layout to myself, I normally place my clothes in the rear with a sleeping bag, mat & small tarp, tent or large tarp goes on the front. Great quality video guys, keep it up ;)

No stove? You had space so I'm guessing it was an oversight. Love the bags and local manufacturing bonus.

The sleeping bag in this video is a Rab Neutrino Endurance 200
@mads205
@mads205 4 года назад
You could probably fit your tent in the front with the sleeping bag. Makes more sense since they will only be used together. And tent is quite heavy so you might not want it in the saddle bag.
@Restrapltd
@Restrapltd 4 года назад
We've found that ideally you'll want to seperate wet and dry kit - keeping the sleeping bag away from a potentially wet tent

I never understand people that can shove their tent in with their clothes. What if it rains and you have to pack up a wet and muddy tent?
@AndreiBanciu
@AndreiBanciu 4 года назад
Why not shove the tent in the bottom of the saddle bag and the poles in the frame bag? It seems you lose too much space by doing as you described. Cheers!

Would you say it is reasonable to go for Land's End to John O'groats in mid-August-ish? campsites are open and taking into account that I'll pretty not be in crowds or anywhere with people really except for the visit to the supermarket for food etc...
@Restrapltd
@Restrapltd 4 года назад
It depends, really! We're all keeping an eye on the news, but as long as you keep to social distancing guidelines and the campsites are open there shouldn't be an issue!

Guys, I need your help and advice. I’m planning a bikepacking trip this summer, from Barcelona to Rome. Previously I did only one day rides on mountain bike, that’s it. But I’m pretty confident in myself. Did some research, by time, I assume it’s going to take me something around 25 days. What sleeping bag should I take? Maybe you have some advice about sleeping pad, affordable tent and it’s preferred weight? About navigation, I’m planning on buying Garmin Edge 530, any suggestions on a smart route planning? Where is a better place to take a stop for a night, camping sites? Any food buying and prepping recommendations? Any safety advices? Maybe there could be some things I can miss to take care about? Please, share your thoughts, it would be appreciated🙌🏻

Hi Sasha, There's quite a lot to unpack there (pun intended) - have you checked out our full series of bikepacking guide videos? We go through most things throughout the series, but if there's anything missing, feel free to email us at support@restrap.com Could also be worth checking out our packlist for our tours - here's a recent packlist from our 2 week croatia tour for example: restrap.com/blogs/news/restrap-does-croatia-2021-bike-check

Great to know that you have such a professional platform, tour recap and packing lists are going to be a good and useful information for me.✌🏻

Is the frame bag actually waterproof?
@Restrapltd
@Restrapltd 4 года назад
All our products are made from durable fabrics that are 100% waterproof, however as most of our products (the Frame Bag for example) are stitched, so we cannot guarantee 100% waterproofing on these products due to water penetrating the seam in very wet conditions, but we do our best to ensure water runs off the bag, not into it :)

Not worried about the bags but I like that pump Mostly because I run a full suspension for my bike packing and a hammock setup instead of a tent And I use only three bags from Rock bross ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-JsUTt4meZPk.html Please note I do not have that bike any more. I now have a diamondback Atroz 2 The one in this video is a diamondback coil EX with a lot of mods pacifically designed for off-road and gravel bikepacking

Why not panniers? It makes no sense to have all the weight so high? Please educate me.
@jamessimpson8683
@jamessimpson8683 4 года назад
Not all bikes can take pannier racks. Bike packing was originally intended for road and mountain bikes that lack the eyelets of a touring bike.
@boycy69
@boycy69 3 года назад
Panniers don't fare so well on rough terrain as racks are prone to snapping with touring weight. You certainly want less weight with a bikepacking setup, and you want it well-balanced. It does affect the ride, but you quickly get used to it.

Why not just remove the tent from its own bag and stuff it in. Most tents will be well able for stuffing, assuming nothing in the bag can tear it
@Restrapltd
@Restrapltd 2 года назад
There is no problem with doing this at all. We live in Yorkshire where it is raining quite often, if you have anything else in the dry-bag like a sleeping bag you don't want to get soggy then the tent's stuff-sack is going to come in useful as a barrier.

Useless saddle bag, so small. Most of us pack 15 liters there. Riverside for 80 dollars is a better choice
@Restrapltd
@Restrapltd 3 месяца назад
14L is useless? Wait til you see our best-selling 7L Race Saddle Bag 👀 Don't worry Tommy, we make options for everyone, even up to 18L with a double retention harness to hold the larger load stable and prevent any movement. Why don't you check out our full range, you might find one or more of our technical and function-first designs that are made here in the UK quite an eye-opener :) restrap.com/

Hi there - we have a full bikepacking guide series of videos that goes through touring in winter weather, cooking and eating while out on the road, and loads more. Check out our Bikepacking Guide Playlist on our channel to see more. In this video, we went over the essentials, to show how the essentials (when packed like in this video) take up less room than you'd expect. Of course, you can fill the gaps left yourself with any extra kit.

Will be doing a 500 km-ride in August. Have a question about the water supply required for something this big. I can carry two bottles securely in their respective bottle cages. Would you suggest to bring a water bladder or camelpack?
@Restrapltd
@Restrapltd Год назад
It's mainly down to your own preference - on a longer ride like that you'll need to factor in places to refill water, but if you're wanting to ride as far as possible without stopping, a bladder might be a better option as it's larger capacity.
