To celebrate the inaugural Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift race that starts in Paris on 24th July, my friend Nicky and I decided to bikepack the lot -- including the transfers. 1500km across France. What an adventure!

I know this video is about highlighting the importance of the inaugural Tour de France femmes and it does that brilliantly; but it’s also such a heartwarming video of two friends, riding bikes and enjoying some stunning scenery. Congrats on finishing your adventure! and your words couldn't ring more true for me. I recently finished a much shorter 640km ride over a few days, but it's tough finding people who want to do these type of rides. I rode it myself, and was able to check the adventure off my list! So I 100% agree, to anyone who wants to do a big adventure ride, just pack up and go do it! you won't regret it!

Thanks. Just what I needed; a kick up the arse. I over stretched my self this weekend cycling with lots of camping gear around West Yorkshire and the Yorkshire Dales. Returned home totally demoralised. I was going to sack off my next year tour thinking there's no way I could do it alone, I'm never going to be fit enough, I'm not up to it psychologically etc, etc. Anyhow, just watched your video, I'm going to do it. Just going to shorten the stages and lower my gearing. I frayed my knees out grinding between Huddersfield and Long Preston; the hills too steep and too long for a bike that weighed in, fully loaded, at 70lbs and made the stupid mistake of returning the same way because the traffics lighter. Just have to accept that I simply cannot rush and I've just to take my time. It's not a race. Thank you so very much.

Wow what an amazing trip! I really want to go to France.........as a new cyclist I have embraced the whole doing things alone. I did my first ever solo wild camp this year and I loved the freedom of not having to think about others and worry about how they are feeling/ coping. That sounds selfish but as a wife and mother I'm always having to think about others so having just a little time to concentrate on me has been so liberating. Keep making inspiring videos Katie 🙂

You're both very strong riders and made it look all too easy, laughing and joking all the way. Thanks for reminding us to know our limits and only ride the distance we can, after all it's about having fun. The genuine interaction between the French countryside and your ride makes for compulsive viewing, has to be on my bucket list to ride a section. Great vid thanks.

Not sure how I missed this video until now. I can see Super Planches des Belles Filles from my house across the Rhine in Germany. Unfortunately I left for the US the day the men arrived and got back the day after the women finished there! But I'm very stoked that the men's tour is ending at Grand Ballon this year. Everything here is steep and nothing is flat.

Well done, good stuff. I believe that the smelly purple crop you passed was Borage. The Oil from it is used in herbal medicines and the leaves & flowers are sometimes eaten.

This is an immense accomplishment. Outstanding you two are. I was pleased to see that France powered your journey with baguettes. I always knew their bread was special. The last time I biked it was hot and I managed to get heat exhaustion and a migraine. And your skill at riding while filming is a gift, I tried that before and the phone fell on ground and next thing I know I am diving out of the street as a gray mercedes barreled down the road.

I commuted in London from Vauxhall to Hammersmith because it was faster than the tube. Far fewer cyclists back then (18 years ago). I used baby wipes, and only occasionally got rained on. Packed my clothes in my rucksack okay, and kept some shoes in the office. I carried on when we moved to Hertfordshire, we have showers. Now I'm too far, I miss cycling to work!

Oh Never mind making YT videos, you've turned into quite the filmmaker and producer these days! 🎬🌞 I just relish the longer ones in that they tell a story of them own; and I appreciate the extended talking time which I always hold tight onto my own heart. Though I will say the French bits added a whole other flavour to it 🇫🇷 😁😄 😚 I'm proud of you, I feel like it is always worth it repeating it to you. And then the two of you managed to convey the exact essence of adventure and to sport the very spirit of adaptation so very required in these kind of enterprises and in life, one might argue correctly. I commend you both, you've battled the heat, fought through the wind and landed at the very top of stage 8. La super Planche des belles filles just reminded me that if it isn't climbing, it ain't cycling. Flat pedalling is just commuting, transferring at the very best. Definitely true for me! =]

One that they knew full well had already been recalled (after delaying on delivery for well beyond the expected period, that required chasing up on) and that they were told as much when we answered the door and didn't take it, after its replacement had already shown up, but they then later left behind our bin anyway (presumably to avoid some charge being passed on to the driver).😠
