@@goodolmilo4970 It is. It's like bikers are invisible. The biggest problem is people changing lanes on the highway. They go into your lane as though you're not even there. Part of the problem is that a lot of drivers don't actually know what the rules for motorcycles are (It's not a big part of drivers' ed). So, even if they do see you, they think they can get next to you in the same lane, as though you're on a moped or a bicycle, rather than allowing you the same amount of space as a car. And, of course, every now and then, there is an idiot who just doesn't like bikers and deliberately tries to crowd you. It's something you have to learn how to deal with. For me, there are three things to always keep in mind: A) Don't go cheap on protective gear. A good helmet and protection for your joints can turn a potential tragedy into a minor nuisance. B) Keep looking around you. You need to be alert for what the cars are doing because you cannot rely on them watching out for you. C) Ride your bike a lot, so that you know exactly how it handles. That way, you can respond quickly to a problem without losing control. Practice is crucial. I learned to ride in Belgium and every spring there was a peak in motorcycle accidents.
