Based on the current law I think the cops are right. But the ATV rider says he registered the bike as street legal so he can ride on public road. I’m not sure if an ATV that is registered as an street legal are allowed to ride on public road and street or still have to ride on public unpaved road.
@@ahmandjohnson5071 muted or not 4 wheelers are illegal on the street in Florida. If he somehow got it registered he got ripped off because it's not real. He knows this yet still argues. He's lucky they didn't take his pus-y 4 wheeler and throw him in jail. I would have. Simply our causing issues, holding up traffic, and arguing with cops who have a job to do, means you are just an as-hole in general. True story!
@@thomascasey1044 You are generally correct regarding state law, however, counties can choose to exempt themselves from that, as is the case with Broward and Miami-Dade counties. The confusion on the part of the cop is probably whether Brevard County has exempted itself. Either way, if the cop isn’t 100% sure, it’s a stretch to call someone an asshole for reasonably believing the counter argument. And btw, he was the one that asked the cops if he could pull over to avoid blocking traffic. It was the cop who grabbed his handlebars and tried to pull out his keys rather than telling him to pull over that held up traffic.
@@ahmandjohnson5071So you claim that county government can overrule state government regarding traffic laws? That’s a new one to me. The statement on screen at the beginning said ATV is legal to ride on a dirt road without license. Homie is on a paved street, so he needs to go. He knows better, but he’d rather act stupid and fish for a reason to sue for a quick payment.
What I don't understand, the ATV has a Florida license plate. If it has all the right equipment, it should be legal. If the traffic is limited to motorcycles only, why do they allow the three wheel bathtubs with steering wheels to travel the street. Those things are not motorcycle.
ATV's cannot be made street legal in Florida. Trust me I wish they could. People try to get around it all the time but at the end of the day they aren't legal here.
How could it be registered if it’s not legal? What is the purpose of registration if not to certify a vehicle as legal? Say it out loud and see if it makes sense.
You sound dumb as hell, Paul. This is quoted directly from the first line on the vehicle registration page of the FLHSMV (Florida Dept. of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles) website: “In the state of Florida, a vehicle must have a valid registration to operate on Florida roads.” www.flhsmv.gov/motor-vehicles-tags-titles/license-plates-registration/motor-vehicle-registrations/ Necessarily then, if a vehicle has a valid registration IT IS STREET LEGAL…
Neither are motorcycles the distinction in most laws across this country is that 4 wheels makes it a "car" and subject to all the federal requirements to be street legal. That's why you see all these Polaris trikes popping up. They are cars, but that fourth wheel is taken off to bypass the laws.
He is in the right as long as the vehicle is registered it is street legal seen plenty of off road vehicles on main Street once it was sorted it out . And the cops were out of control this year so sad
as long as the atv is registered with tail lights, head lamp, turn signals. they are legal to be on the road. all I see is a tag, and if that is all he has on his atv he is in the wrong. oh and less than 50cc for not to have a tag
If this is a motorcycle only restriction for a special event, then the officer is correct. A 4 wheel vehicle is not a motorcycle. Same goes for 4x4 trucks and Honda Civics. Arguing about the registration is pointless. It is either a motorcycle or it is not. 3 wheel vehicles are classified as motorcycles as well. Adding a sidecar to a 2 wheel motorcycle would not automatically make it an automobile.
He did know the law. Read the very first line genius: www.flhsmv.gov/motor-vehicles-tags-titles/license-plates-registration/motor-vehicle-registrations/. If a vehicle is registered, which his was, it is necessarily street legal. And what did he say that constitutes a “smart A$$ mouth”? Even if so, under what code of the FL statutes is that a ticket worthy offense? Are you suggesting that cops should abuse their authority and ticket folks based in their personal feelings?
"The freedom of individuals verbally to oppose or challenge police action without thereby risking arrest is one of the principal characteristics by which we distinguish a free nation from a police state." Houston v. Hill, 482 U.S. 451 (1987)
Next they'll be wanting to operate go carts on the streets, oh that's right some do. Just obey the laws don't argue with the police and take to court. I'm just saying 🤬 🤷
You can argue it if you want, but some bikes have 3 wheels and lights. Is just happening at 4 wheels. The 3 Wheeler the 4 Wheeler and 2 Wheeler has a motor. It's like the bible it's opening For interpretation
How ya gona have slingshots going down the road when there is nothing motorcycle about them. Steering wheel, car seat, and roof option… they got away with some safety bs to call it a motorcycle and have em in the road ”legal” This dudes street legal atv with one extra wheel than a slingshot ain’t hurting nobody!
I see all these small sport bikes running with a passenger and back packs, I'm sure they're not rated for that much weight why aren't they being hassled, shame on Fla.
This is utter bull s#!+, they allow those slow ass golf carts on A1A year around, day and night...don't make me go there about those slingshi+ 3 wheeled stereo systems that blast out all the cover bands on Main Street. NWA said it...and the popo need to go fight real crime and leave the ATV dude alone!! I hope he raised hell with someone for buying that tag!!
Meanwhile a real crime is being committed atv's can be registered its literally 2 additional wheels and is arguably safer for the public but that wont stop a tyrannical npc from flexing his ego in a clown suit
Please explain where and how, precisely, did he act like an asshole? The cops didn’t even think that based on how they treated him and the ticketing cop admitting he may owe an apology.
You can see the license plate, run the number!! that's all that it takes. BUT no, the COPS have become a "BOYS CLUB" and cannot admit they are wrong. AND, you cannot reach into a vehicle, concurrently - reaching to turn off a motorcycle without asking for it to be turn off is against the law!
I tell You it's okay to express your opinion if it was a street legal why did the State of Florida give the dude a Tag even register ATV, not only that how where golf karts able to come down in the comments on That
ATV's cannot be made street legal in the state of Florida. People try to get around it all the time and even register them in states where it is legal. Even then still not street legal in this state. You cant use the "just passing through" excuse in a dead end state. 🤣
I can't believe some of these bikes in the way Daytona is now! It has really went downhill since back in the day! Used to be all Harley-Davidsons maybe some British spikes not the stupid customized ugly ass bikes people ride and four-wheelers stupid.
PAUSE @3:10 and explain to me why this 3 wheeled car with two seats, seat belts and a steering wheel is freely going through this motorcycle only street? Its at least 4feet longer and three feet wider than the vehicle with handle bars! ILL BE HERE WAITING FOR WHY ONE OF THESE VEHICLES ISNT A MOTORBIKE😁
With the ticker tape on bottom of the video they should be stopping three wheeled vehicles that are not motorcycles. The ones with a gas peddle and steering wheel. The cops are showing prejudice towards this guy. Granted its a 4 wheeler but if street is for motorcycles only kets be stopping all non motorcycles not just this guy! Thats why they let him off finally!
@5:50 you can see these wheelers up close! One has one wheel in the front and two in the back and the other has two wheels in the front and one drive wheel in the back. It looks extremely familiar to the bike they are forcing off the road!
