Bill Baily is a very light hearted comedian and musician. He can lift your spirit without you thinking he's trying to. Sometimes when you're feeling down you need a little subtlety.
bill bailey is more than a comedian and musician. hes a genius and a very down to earth guy, you can tell he only realy does stuff because he enjoys it.
I am sure someone has possibly mentioned it below, but a little known fact is Bill Bailey is blessed with "absolute pitch" (also known as perfect pitch), i.e. he has the ability to identify or re-create a given musical note.
Never mind the subject or segment, as a proud Brit, I cannot but salute you for the drinking of what appears to be alcoholic beverages with each show. Half way to being honorary Brits. Probably gets you almost instant citizenship, if you wanted it, and provided HM QE agrees. Best wishes to our Canadian cousins. Edit...perhaps not only alcoholic substances...
Might I suggest you check out Bill Bailey Duelling Sitars it's a segment from a show where thanks to probably a computer He's playing the guitar but it sounds like a banjo, his opponents are an entire traditional Indian band with backing singers and the Sitar player is taking the part of the guitar musical hilarity ensues
Bill actually plays multiple individual instruments...not just electronically. He is a great fan of Gerard Hoffnung. Hoffnung hasn't left behind any visuals of himself, but he put together cartoons to accompany his compositions and arrangements of the classics. He was also a great comedy story-teller. Check out his bricklayer's lament story, and the letter from a European hotel-keeper. Hilarious.
Hunting with Dogs was restricted in 2004, the Hunts ( groups of posh people with horses and dogs) still exist, but they're not supposed to be chasing and killing foxes anymore
Well, the hunting with 'packs' of dogs is. 2 dogs max and you can still hunt and kill a fox. As a family when we lived on a big estate the man who came to clear up our rabbit infestations would just pop the foxes if any happened by during his night long vigils sitting behind his night sights.
Bill is comedy gold. I'd recommend -if you can find it - Cosmic Jam in which he does the Starsky & Hutch routine. He tells a wonderfully surreal joke about Three Men Go Into a Pub...but one of them is missing. Check out more of his stuff, he's brilliant.
A good start to get into Bill's mind, is his Downton Abbey Reggae Mix . . . However, I'll still add on here - Victoria Wood's "2 Soups" sketch for you to check out as well . . .
Fox hunting was banned in 2004 in the majority of the UK, as it was deemed to be cruelty to the animals. I’ve just started watching your videos and love that you’re enjoying British humour ❤️. Keep up the good work x
I just saw Bill Bailey live on Thursday, he was hilarious, we were sat right at the front, he made a joke about my husband within the first 2 minutes 🤣
Fox hunting being taught in schools on Wednesday afternoons is not true. It’s usually Friday afternoon with a PE teacher sewn into a Fox suit and sprayed with aniseed being released onto a sports field with a two minute head start.
I am sure you will receive these recommendations many, many times. You really have to watch 'Dualing Sitars' & his performance with Kraftwork, 'Autobahn'. Keep up the good work. Ta!
Hi Brad & Lucy, Yep you definitely need to check out more of Bill, He's brilliant, Very Original mixing music & Comedy, there's a lot more to him to discover Best Wishes Jim, UK X
Brad - be proud to be the third. She made all her mistakes with the first two and despite having her heart broken twice, you were still worth the risk. Must be some man indeed.
Just for the avoidance of any doubt, we do in fact teach fox hunting in schools in the UK. I remember them well - I still have my GCSE level 3 in advanced fox hunting and tracking.
Guys please please please react to bill Bailey's message to metallica 😂 it's short and sweet but so effing good. Love the content btw you guys have such a wholesome relationship and I live for reaction vids especially of UK stuff and I am really digging your guys vids!
Please watch more bill bailey? His live stuff is amazing. Fox hunting is mostly banned but I think it still goes on.... in order to control the species...
He is an accomplished musician who can play numerous instruments when someone asked him ''What do you play? I play the piano and that's how I learned about music. I then taught myself the guitar, drums, percussion and various other things, such as the bazooka, the mandolin, the Theremin, the alpine horn, the didgeridoo.''
My home town of Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire is still known as a fox hunting area. It happens occasionally but is not really enjoyed by the normal people but by the gentry.
Fox hunting per se is illegal in the UK,. But it's a bit complicated. As a general rule you can't hunt with a pack of dogs. Glad you both enjoyed Bill's different style, he is a bit of a genius.
Greetings from over the pond ! For some more comedy musical stuff to check out I highly recommend Tim Minchin. A musical and comedic genius. It will bring in loads of new views Australians too !. Glass raised blunt rolled you wont regret it guys
I think it's Billy Connolly who said, "Life is the longest thing you ever do." PS, no we don't get a double lesson of fox hunting. It's normally two standard lessons, throughout the week, lol!
Fox hunting isn't taught in schools! The hound led hunt was banned in 2002 in Scotland and 2005 in England. Check out Bill Bailey doing Metallica's Enter Sandman on the horns, he's an amazing musician x
There are schools that have their own Beagle Packs for Beag-ling which involves the pack hunting an artificial scent and participants follow on foot, not on horse back. To my kowledge there are no schools that participate in Foxhunting or keep Foxhounds to hunt on horseback, again in GB hunting an artificial scent.
I forget if they banned it or not, I think they were trying to, but fox hunting was probably still a thing at least as recently as the 1990s... I remember people talking about it on the news a bunch, when I was a child... Mostly a rural and possibly more upper class pastime... Although there might be commoners involved in looking after and training the dogs, amongst other things... I think there was an industry around it, to some extent... Ah well... It's funny how some things lasted until fairly recently or maybe still continue, while you'd think that they were some sort of archaic practice... Like you'd think that something like apartheid in south Africa would have ended in the 70s at latest, but it actually lasted until the early 1990s...
The questions such as "Are you a member of a terrorist organisation?" aren't as stupid as they seem. They are designed to give leverage. If a person is proven to be a member of a terrorist organisation after saying they are not, it makes their entry visa nul and void, and they lose all rights because they've entered the country illegally. This means that possibly they can be held indefinitely be law enforcement groups without being charged. So there is method in the apparent madness.
Since the ban, in theory hunts are supposed follow scent trails although every so often there is an incident What did you do to have them demand you back, I hope it wasn't serious
Officially Fox hunting has been banned, but when the Tories (Conservertive party) got into Government/Power in 2010, they found a way to bye-pass the Law that was passed by the Labour Government under Tony Blair in 1997. For the record, Fox hunting isn't taught in schools on a Wednesday, or any other Day of the Week 😆😆👨🎓👩🎓
You can not go wrong with Bill Bailey. Even if Lucy wanted to be Queen of Scotland it would be impossible. They already have a self-apponted one in Nicola Sturgeon!
