They're all just entertainers. They all have the same job, to attract attention. They all know that. Nobody "destroyed" anyone. They do the job, and people watch.
@@TheSands83are you serious? Maybe holier was a poor choice of wording considering Maher and his view on religion. Smarter than thou, or better than thou has been his entire personality since he hit the scene decades ago. Pretty sure that was what the commenter meant.
@@quackenbush723 but acting like bill burr is some genuine person is comical 🤣at least maher doesn’t hide who he really is. Bill burr is such a fake person n sell out
Ah yes I was looking for this comment. Norm's genius was that he was an intellectual in real life who pretended to be dumb. Because Norm knew that no one likes the smart know-it-all lol
@@pyrotechnick420 Maher's has a very edgy angle when it comes to comedy, it's not made for naive average minded folk... Stick to simple shit that u can comprehend.
Bill Burr has an anger management problem. Apparently you haven't listened to his stand-up and him telling his stories about him and his wife. That's why he gets so defensive, Look at the way he treated Theo Von.
"Don't you think the Catholic Church went a little too far" Hosts pretending they have no idea what he's talking about while everyone behind the camera are holding in their laughs. lol
that's why Bill is such a one of a kind. he can switch from being all pally pally, to counter striking you in the jaw for some dumb shit you just said, in an instant. also love how he never just lets anything go, ever.
No Tyson grew up in Brownsville, I think sometimes neighboring areas are reported because Bville is so small and surrounded by many other notorious kings county neighborhoods and here in NYC a lot if people have neighborhood borders that have been told forever as a certain neighborhood that turns out false
@@RooseCochran Bill Maher isn't actually knowledgeable. I realised that when he got challenged on the thing he actually talks about "politics" and knew nothing of what those politicians did or supported.
Right, because liberals think violence is awesome if their feelings are hurt. When I think of liberals, I on purpose put something that should be recycled smack in the garbage. You gonna cry snowflake?
@@analogueoverdigital929 Tyson isn't some sort of maniac that goes off the rails at any jab at him like he was when he went to prison and Cus died. He's a whole lot more chill nowadays and also never really goes crazy unless someone insults him on a personal level.
Right? "Why would I ever want to change my oil?" Well I dunno Bill, why would I ever want to discuss architecture? I thought you stood for the idea that it;s better to know information than not to know it. Or is that only for properly upper-class pursuits?
Well, it does mean literally "left" BUT, it can also mean gauche | goSH | adjective lacking ease or grace; unsophisticated and socially awkward: a shy and gauche teenager.
Maher is so unbearable now. He's that uncle that seemed cool when you were a kid and didn't know any better but now you see he was just an asshole the whole time
I have an uncle like this, that pretty much describes him perfectly. As a kid I thought he was cool, nowadays I just seem him as pathetic and notice how he typically acts smarter than he really is, and how he acts better than so many people not only my age, but also people his own age. As an adult now, I'm glad I didn't turn out like him.
@@dwightyboy5324 Once-cool uncle here! To those of who are just becoming adults, get ready for the big plot twist: you probably weren't the cleverest of nieces & nephews, either. And further, your own version of "cool" will become unbearably dated to _your_ niblings in just a few short years. Funny thing, irony. Enjoy the certainty while it lasts.
As an actual policy professional who's written shit for the UN, just want to say, Bill Maher is exactly what Burr described. A guy with a fantasy football team who thinks he's a GM.
Maher is just smart enough to think he’s a genius, but not smart enough to realize how much he doesn’t know. He’s everyone’s worst stereotype of an atheist.
The quietly brutal tone in Burr's voice and his casual demeanor as he eviscerates Maher... It's like watching a bully get put in place by a super-bully who only hunts bullies.
"most of what you say is not smart, it is just sort of obscure" this wasn't even directed at me, but now I need to rethink my whole life edit: you guys are taking this way too seriously.
Bill Burr is like the voice of the voiceless for the ever-day-man in the celebrity world lol. He cuts through all their bullshit and lowers their pedestal back to earth reminding them "you shit in the morning like the rest of us."
@@joshb8976As a political comic he's one the best for me. But I am not American and am not republican or Democrat. Bill burr is just the best in the world right now.
@@jimmyzoso6272 Dave Chappelle is the best comedian alive. It isn’t really up for debate. Burr is a GOAT. But Bill Maher is extremely ignorant as a political commentator. He either doesn’t tell the truth or doesn’t know the truth and doesn’t care to learn. He has trump derangement syndrome and is fine with political prosecutions because we must stop trump by any means necessary. He’s also all in for the Israelis when they’re literally murdering civilians indiscriminately including children. He doesn’t have kids and has stated he doesn’t like them. He doesn’t have good morals and that’s why someone like Burr is able to trample him in a conversation like this. You should look into Jimmy Dore and Kurt Metzger if you want some good political commentary comedians.
These two like each other far more than you realize. They were intentionally playing up their personas and setting each other up like a great comedy duo. The fact that they redid the bit about their age gap should’ve given it away for you.
Unfortunately this guy youtuber doesn't understand sarcasm. And feels like Bill Burr is genuinely annoyed. He is just roasting him. Because that is what Bill Burr does. He roasts everybody
Exactly. Both of these guys know what they’re doing. I’ll bet at the end of this, once the cameras were off, the Bills looked at each other and said, “this is going to make for a great podcast episode.” Then they shook hands and went about their business
When Kimmel was on Club Random, Mahr literally said that they were from different generations. He's twice argued with Burr about not being from different generations. Kimmel Nov 13 1967 Burr Jun 10 1968
I'm just far enough from Bill age wise that it feels like another generation. I don't remember any of the 1970's, for example. Technically,. we're both Gen X, but our experiences are way different. In fact, I think the line is around 1970. I have older cousins, and it always felt like it was the 70's kids (them) versus the 80's kids (us). Not in a bad way. Just very different.
My personal experience(aged 48) is once I'm more than 8 years older or younger than somebody it feels like a different generation. 13 years is massive in my opinion
That sounds like YOUR problem. If someone is older than you it means they experienced the same world you did from their perspective. Watching this makes me think... Maher creates & pays for his own content. This guy takes other people's content FOR FREE Uses it out of context, doesn't know Maher IS a comedian. So in the first minute I've got no respect for him or his shallow opinions. My opinion?? 1st. I think both Bills should bill him for taking their stuff. #2. I wish the brilliant *F is for Family had five more seasons. I hope you can count this far... 3. Respect your elders. You will be there soon... sooner than you think. And if you piss 'em off... they can probably afford to pay someone to knock the shit out of you and put it on RU-vid!. 3rd. *In the business we just call it "F".
I listened to this whole podcast and I gotta say, I’m not a bill Maher fan at all, I think he is elitist and pretentious, but this podcast when it’s not edited to just show bill burr “DESTROYING” him. Maher takes it very well and is having so much fun getting roasted by bill and even starts acting more pretentious on purpose to get bill to roast him more. I hate to say it but it kinda made me like him more. He seemed to really enjoy this and take it well. Despite how brutal it looks in edited form, he loved talking to bill burr, and even told him at one point that talking to him was like “sparring with Muhammad Ali”. It was actually a very enjoyable podcast and I don’t think bill maher was offended or felt “DESTROYED” by bill, despite burr having the upper hand the entire time and dominating the podcast. I can kinda respect Maher for taking all of this so well, I would have thought his big ego would have made him get very offended at some point.
I thought I was alone in thinking what you just wrote. I don't think Burr destroyed Maher at all. I haven't understood that take on it, but just figured I was missing something.
I was thinking that too. Also in general Maher can take stabs but he's a loud mouth and runs over other people's mouths until he gets enough opposition. I feel like he actually likes being challenged despite being so full of himself.
Bill Burr always starts out by saying he is uneducated and stupid (“ah, what do I know”) but he’s the most logical comic I have seen and has an acute sense of detecting BS. I love him.
Honestly, no, we don’t look at you as the same. I look at Bill as basically my father’s generation arguing with my grandfather’s generation when I see these.
Bill Maher was using fancy language after Burr roasted him just to get a rise out of him. It's so clear, that I don't know how you couldn't catch that, or couldn't be sure about it. Nobody would break out a latin phrase unironically after being roasted for saying something mildly intelligent. He's being pretentious on purpose. Common sense is becoming rarer and rarer as the years go by.
The fact that he’s 5’ 4 makes it more believable that he’s an arrogant scumbag. Despite his success he still, probably unconsciously, feels he has to compensate
I like how Bill Burr just casually puts Mahr in the shredder time after time. I absolutely love it! I don't think there's anybody else out there that has the quick enough wit to do that face to face on a public platform. It's like fine artwork.
This is comedy. They're riffing each other. They're making content because they're comedians. You need to stop overanalysing what they are saying because it's all about being funny over being truthful. Jeez.
This isnt comedy. Thats bill maher grasping to whats left of his relevancy after his late night show ended. Bill burr isnt testing bits, hes responding to arrogance and, most likely, a drunk and high bill maher
@@moisesBTW - this only goes to show you don’t understand show business. You think they never discussed and planned any of it. You think there is no production behind it and no goal other than BE FUNNY. And Bill is funny when he is “agitated”. It a fucking ROLE he plays all the time. Jesus Christ!!!
WTF? It’s not about “being funny over being truthful”! I Burr being BRUTALLY truthful , THAT’S why it’s so funny. When he says “ most of the stuff you say isn’t that smart, it’s just Obscure “ GREAT OBSERVATION, it’s true, and how many other people have the balls to put knowi-it-alls in their place like this?Thats why it’s hilarious-.
This is just busting balls. Maher did it to Burr on his podcast lol. This is what Burr and other comics did to eachother round the Cellar table coming up, that people even think this is somehow serious is a sign of how diluted comedy has become today 😂
Maher is wrong, I am 19 and am well aware of different generations and it’s pretty obvious that Maher has some older qualities than burr. Bill burr literally listens to primus which is from the 90s while Maher is into the Beatles which I also love. But it’s pretty obvious.
Maher is drunk and expertly trolling. Burr knows it and is playing along. Both interlocutors are professionals who understand the game and are parodying themselves for our benefit. This is how they make their living.
Re the latin bit. Bill Maher is the kind of guy who learns a phrase, without learning the language, but claims to "know things". He's like a trained seal.
Love the channel ! 🇬🇧 Richard Dreyfus sliding off his chair on his podcast after telling a dubious story about his mum and sister was mad ha Redbar did an episode on it 😂
Club random with Burr was great, because bill defended himself. When mahrer isnt being checked He brings Up His antiwoke topics, anti marriage, anti Kids. Its OK if you dont want to marry and get kids but dont assume ITS the best life you can live. Prime example for this is the Tony Hawk Episode of Club random.
Roasting is not destroying. Before the snowflake era, this is how male friend groups interacted. Everybody gave everybody sh*t. Billy Baldhead is just better at it than most.
As a boomer I use to find Maher witty, but his millionaire bubble prison and his pretentious attitude wears thing as he declares 'I'm one of the real liberals.'
