Nah, it's too Bostony for my liking, lately Bill Burr seems to think he have to turn every interview into a roasting battle. I actually liked that Bill Maher was at least making an effort in expanding Bill Burr's vocabulary that usually sprinkle nearly every sentence with his f-words. Also Bill Burr going on a one-way roasting seemed a bit desperate and attention-seeking to me.
@@lcfnyc2007 Maher was asking for it though. "This isn't your thing, its my thing." "I am brave!" Maher is so arrogant and smug it only makes sense he gets talked to that way
He's the only person I've ever seen who can maintain composure and wit no matter how tense the scenario is. The guy is socially invinclible with no whiff of ego at all.
Fair enough, but it would help if Bill Burr overcame his glaring insecurities. MY word! I never realised it before because I'd mostly see him on stage or with late-night talk show hosts who act as springboard for jokes. But as soon as someone pushes back... Also, he seems to constantly feel attacked - what is that all about?
Water off a ducks back. Maher doesn't seem to intake much from burr unless it's a complement or something they agree on. Maher definitely lives in his own world were facts dont mater and feeling are everything. Probably because of the trauma of his childhood he had to become a narcissistic to survive.
It really shows how well bill can communicate tho and bust balls without making Maher get in super defence mode or feeling offended. Or its just because Maher has a high level of respect for bill and wants him to like him

Bout time bill Maher was humbled considering how much he protects himself. He thinks he is so self aware while being completely out of touch. Thank you bill burr
Bill Burr relentlessly roasted and trashed an entire city for fifteen minutes straight and by the end, he won them over. Maher knows he was completely outmatched with wits, so brought out the pseudo-intellectual persona, which Burr recognized immediately, and immediately trashed.
Maher is so not funny. He’s a pretentious as who throws in the odd French word to make him appear more intelligent than he really is. He said Gauche thinking it means great and Burr rightly called him out on it because it means being tactless, crude or lacking social grace not great.
It was more funny listening to burr the sellout who hasnt been funny in years while he flys around in helicopters sit there and lie and act as if he doesn’t. Maher had every right to laugh at him and call him out on his lie. Why would someone with hundreds of millions fly commercial

This is the only episode that I actually watched the whole thing, spared from Maher's unchecked smug brilliance. Burr's intellect was almost too much for him!
I can never sit through anything Burr does. Bill Burr needs to leave Hollywood and retire, he lost it years ago, he is insufferable. How anyone can listen to that smug, snooty, not funny hack moron is beyond me. Bill Burr has always been a soft skin brat who gets offended and triggered every time I see him speak
@@jimbusmaximus4624Burr is to emotional and stupid to be called an intellectual. He has soft skin and makes choices based off his feelings. Burr is an emotional moron, always has been.
Yep 100%!..... It's funny watching a rat trying to weasel his way out of a statement like Maher does so many times in this episode. Maher is definitely paid by the enemy. Without a doubt... Funny or not, Maher is a paid actor... Burr is just ol Billy Burr. Mad Respect ol Billy Boy...... Burr. ..... As far as Maher..... He used to be cool, much like Jon Stewart, until they got paid and puppeteerd. It's sad. But encouraging that some people cant be bought.

@@dilciaenid57Funny…this was the first one I watched end to end too. Bill didn’t seem as stoned or incoherent in this one…almost like he knew he needed to be on his game with the likes of Bill Burr. Good show.
For the thousandth time, Palestine is NOT Hamas, no more than American is MAGA. Israel was subjected to a terrorist attack and should have responded by ferreting out the terrorists, not carpet bombing an entire country in service to their greater agenda of eliminating Palestine. We did the same thing after 9/11 when Saudis and terrorists attacked the US but we went after an entire country that had nothing to do with any of it for no other reason than we were looking for an excuse to do so. Palestine is not HAMAS. Students protesting the war crime currently being perpetrated by Israel is NOT support for HAMAS. If you are really that smart, you should be able to make this distinction. STOP IT.
Burr completely owns Maher in this episode. Loved when he said, You asked me a question and I’m trying to answer it. Why don’t you just tell me what the answer is rather than asking so we can stop wasting time. Burr totally calls him out everywhere.
Maher clearly likes Burr but Burr doesn't like Maher so of course it wasn't pleasant. it was supposed to be a fun chat but Burr came in looking for a fight, as he usually does.
Bill Burr is the perfect antidote to Maher's smugness. He detects Mahers bullshit in a split second and calls him on it every time. Best exchange: Maher: Keep telling yourself that Burr: I'm not telling myself that, I'm telling YOU that Maher: Well...., I don't agree Burr: Hey.....there ya go. That's the way you're supposed to say it. Beauty
There are definitely not likable qualities about bill. Despite how reasonable he is as a democrat, he’s still heavily blinded by certain biases that he can’t get out of his own way to see past. He’s absolutely a narcissist. But I appreciate that he’s aware enough to laugh at the truth in Bill’s roast comments.
Bill Burr, I so appreciate the way you care about and love your children and your wife. It is hard to find someone stupid. We all learned from each of you: about comedy, personality differences, the value of testing limits of discussion between two very different people. Thanks
The only thing that sets bill Maher apart from my generation are his outfits . He almost always has a dress shirt on tucked in with a belt. and I can’t even imagine him wearing tennis shoes.
That one killed me. That was one of the best. I had a Wham-O Hula Hoop when I was a kid in the 60s which that line even funnier. The Geritol line was even funnier.
I normally can't sit through entire episode of Maher being inebriated but watching Maher try to pull his antics with Burr was worth it. No one's brain works faster than Burr's. Maher: "...Anywayyyyy" Burr: "Oh, you think you're going to stop me with 'anywayyyy' as if we're moving on? Is that what they taught you in 'Speech & Debate Club?" Then at the end, Burr tries to hug Maher who rebuffs him and Burr zings him, "side hug? Oh, look he's non-committal even with his MALE friends". Burr is relentless and as fast as a viper.
I like their back and forth. It’s great watching 2 guys just shooting the breeze. With teeth. You take tone and the mutual laughter out. Just context. It’s vicious!
@@rp-2fFor real, and Bill Maher really is pretty level-headed compared to literally every other talk show host. He's a bit of a douche and he's definitely wrong sometimes, but I'll never understand the insane Bill Maher hate lol
Love the way bill burr doesn't stay on amute point he keeps a certain cadence that's really great from e viewer perspective, instead of Maher talking about himself is pure maddening snd the self indulgent cringe he thinks is funny is garbage, soits cool to see somebody that don't let him run the narrative his way
1:18:20 , 1:19:56 is Bill Burr a scientologist? he certainly acts like one. burr shows typical scientology patterns. he's into aviation, is a helicopter pilot, has taken a scientology course, almost called Maher ''glib''. so sus.
It's why Burr is universally loved (except for a few white feminists still holding a grudge but women never hold grudges) and Maher is universally disliked. One is a real person, the other is Brian Griffin minus 20 IQ points come to life.
Can you diagnose my Older brother with NPD too please? I need a credible source to validate my intuition, and you guys appear to be psychic, so.... I'll pay
Oh actually, nevermind. I googled Narcissism and there's too much humility displayed from Maher here... So my brother must be something else. 🤦🏿 Thanks anyway ❤️
This is a great one, I agree, but also check out the club random where he has on Fred Durst. New respect for this dude; he keeps making jokes how he thinks BM is gay and BM just laughs it off uncomfortably. 🤣🤣🤣

@CHURCHSHOOTER666lol da other 3 ppl all Hamas agents too😂😂😂. R Norway n Ireland n Spain n da icc Hamas agents? How bout we take responsibility for our actions?
This is the least dislikable I've seen Maher in 20 years. Burr called him on a lot of his snide smugness in a way that it seemed Maher could actually compute. Right, and then he said there is no distinction between Palestinian civilians and Hamas, and continued to absolved Isreal from *ALL* responsibility for the conflict in the middle east... He's not even trying to hide the fact that his support is based purely on dogmatic ideology and bigotry, fully divorced from reality or nuance. When challenged he then dismisses even having to defend his position by appealing to himself as authority based on having a TV-show that does everything it can to put on the aesthetic of having political relevancy and legitimacy so that he can massage his ego by pretending that his opinions actually matters. Seriously disgusting, disingenious and pathetic. Burr is *actually* intelligent while also being honest with himself about himself and about the world, he doesn't need to massage his ego by adopting a pretentious aesthetic designed to convince others to play along with the fantasy he has of himself
@@elvismawhinney2494 One nations history does not map onto another's that conveniently. Unfortunately it requires critical thinking to parse the details. Freedom for the Irish meant a United Ireland. Freedom for Palestine means ridding the Jews from the Holy Land and instating a type of Caliphate.

The beauty of that comment is that it comes off as a lethal take down initially but he instantly qualifies it with sound reasoning that takes the edge off (that all people who don't really want kids should take to heart). Part of what makes Burr a great comic.

The interaction starting at 43:53 is so telling about Maher. Bill Burr explains to his audience that he’s human, and he makes mistakes. Maher says he’s never attempted that approach, recounts the “traumatic” time he remembers repeating a joke, Burr explains that if he’d just addressed his mistake the audience would’ve been on his side, then Maher says first that he was young, and then says “I just think it’s gauche”, insulting Burr. Then he lies about the word’s meaning. He comes off as such an asshole. He’s a man who can’t admit his mistakes honestly or ask genuine questions when he doesn’t know something AND he thinks something is wrong with the people who can do those things. I’m really grateful for Burr’s intellectual honesty throughout this entire interview. Maher needs to be called out more for this crap. Part of intelligence is knowing what you don’t know and then asking. The use of French and Latin when he’s on his back foot is so transparent. If you stop trying to perform superiority, you can actually grow as a person and learn from the person you’re speaking with. Really appreciated Burr’s maturity here.
Burr regularly shits on women in his comedy and regularly makes fun of the same shit Maher does. lol he's not very "mature' what so ever when he continues to make those same mistakes.
@@decemberkat the idea that Bill Maher kept on saying they were the same age is really embarrassing. Maher is a boomer and you can tell he stopped listening to music after the a Beatles
@1:07:25 Man, that right there is the essence of what makes a great comedian-a sense of timing, the ability to read the room, and the instinct to pivot when things start to get heavy. Bill Burr delivers a masterclass in how comedy can defuse tension and bring people back together, even when the conversation starts to veer into uncomfortable territory. Burr’s move in that moment was pure genius. He saw that the vibe was shifting, that the conversation was getting a bit too serious for the setting, and he jumped in with just the right amount of sarcasm to lighten things up. It’s not about dismissing the seriousness of the topic, but about recognizing that in a space like that-a casual, friendly chat over drinks and cigars-there’s a time to pull back and remind everyone that we’re here to connect, to laugh, and to enjoy each other’s company. That’s where the real skill comes in for a comedian. It’s not just about telling jokes; it’s about navigating those tricky moments where the mood could go either way. It’s about knowing when to push, when to pull back, and how to bring everyone back into that shared space of laughter and camaraderie. Burr’s comment was perfect because it acknowledged Maher’s point without letting the conversation get too bogged down in the heavy stuff. He found a way to make a serious moment funny, and in doing so, he restored the balance of the conversation. That’s what comedy is all about-finding those moments where you can break the tension, where you can remind people that even in the midst of serious discussions, there’s room for humor, for levity, and for connection. It’s about the contentment of solidarity, about bringing everyone back to a place where they can laugh together, even if they don’t agree on everything. And the thing is, that kind of comedy, the spontaneous, in-the-moment stuff, is where you see a comedian’s true essence. It’s not rehearsed, it’s not planned-it’s just them being fully present, reading the room, and reacting in a way that brings everyone along for the ride. That’s why comedians like Burr are so good at what they do. They’ve got that instinct, that ability to find the funny in any situation and use it to bring people together. That’s the real magic of comedy.
"Stop talking like you are a general" is the best line in the whole podcast. Bill "pretending to be a general" maher must be sooo embarrassed and saying "I m wrong" sometimes is good for the soul, Bill "the general" maher!
He is a victim of those evil Palestinians who selfishly complain about massive civilian casualties. Imagine how hard it must be for Maher to turn on the news and wave away the deaths of thousands of innocent people. He lives a hard life!
Why would he do that ? This is the most fun I’ve seen Maher have in a long time. These guys are not rivals you mental midgets, they’re long time friends. Maher loved every minute of their interactions.
@@dylanchappell1835 - Good point. I recall seeing a video of Tom Snyder interviewing Howard Stern. Stern ripped him to shreds. My impression is that they had to run the show. Perhaps they advertised that Stern would be a guest the next day or something like that.

Not really that was a painful interview, you could tell their styles don’t mix at all. Maher couldn’t finish one statement without blowhard Burr having an issue.
