Bill Burr is the type of guy you would love to have as a friend. No bullshit, absolutely authentic, loves his family and truly down to earth. I listen to his podcast every day and this thing brings me back to normal when I feel the need of that. My favourite comedian but other than that - just a lovely dude, an honest guy and a good person.

I grew up poor and in rural SW Missouri with very little experience around other races or cultures. In the 70's my dad would take myself and siblings down to the gulf and bring back fresh shrimp to MO and sell it. On one trip we stopped at a little town in Louisianan for lunch at a place called the Black Bayou. I am a triplet with another brother 13 months younger and here we are, 4 little white boys surround by a very different crowd. The people were so kind and interested in knowing us, the experience, catfish and spaghetti was amazing. Bill's experiences have familiarity with me.

I believe Billy Martin and I gave Bill Burr his first paid gig.. it was a twenty minute opener for a hundred bucks on Martha's Vineyard. Was an absolute home run. And I used to hire Joe Rogan for $300. Love to see the Home Team kill it like they did. They deserve it 👏

Dame wasn't making some unheard of revelation that there's benefit to working for yourself. The problem was that he looks down on and talks down on literally every man that doesn't. It's impossible for *everyone* to be their own boss. At some point, those bosses need worker bees. As long as someone takes pride in what they do and can reliably provide for themselves and their family then there is zero shame in that game.

His humility is real. He was a surprise comic at the comedy store a few weeks ago. We were hooping and hollering for him as he walked up to the mic. He walked up on that stage humble and proceeded to make the comic after him so shook cuz he laughed us nearly all the way out ❤ love his perspective and his comedy! 1 of 1

I was at the comedy store for Marc Maron on a Sunday before covid and Bill Burr was a surprise guest. We couldn’t believe how lucky we were. Bobby Lee, Whitney Cummings and Jeff Ross also had guest sets. But Burr just murdered while trying out new material.

Bill's real. I need to follow what career works for me. I keep failing at my jobs. I keep getting mismanaged and either fired or I quit. So, the universe is pushing me out for a reason. At least Bill is brave enough to be real and follow his dream. Now look at him! He's one of the best!
