It's been great watching Bill become so successful over his career. From filling in for Lil Jimmy on O+A to his move out west and all the success he's had in the last 15 years. Just a nice guy you want to root for.
@@Juggalo4Peace - Couldn't agree more. His cushy, happy life (BEYOND happy for the guy, he's earned it!) has made his comedy pretty yawnworthy in recent years. His last special was evidence of that, though I am hearing some decent things about his current tour *fingers crossed*. When it's all said and done, it sucks for us fans if he's lost his edge for good, but damn, if only we all could turn our scars and anger and hard work into something so fruitful like Willy Rougesacky has. We should all take notes.
I love watching the memories of childhood flicker in Bill Burr's eyes watching that "get out" part. Indeed. So much in silence. Thanks for sharing. You guys are awesome.
I'm same age as Bill. I remember me, my brother and our two best friends all got bikes for Christmas the same year. I was 10. We four would get up very early Saturday mornings before our parents were awake and take off on our bikes, sometimes not returning till Sunday evening. We were off having boyhood adventures. Our parents were not at all concerned. Seems unbelievable today. Feel lucky i'm not a kid today.
Crazily enough, I just watched both of these after school specials (I think on the same night, or 2 nights in a row) about 2 weeks ago. What are the odds of him talking about such random episodes, and me finding this clip that is quite a few years old?!
Just saw Bill at the Garden last night. He did like a two hour set and it was absolutely fucking hilarious. So happy to be able to see one of comedy's greats in his prime.
Holy shit i had no idea that was Ralphy. Wonder how good those residual checks are every december? Cuz they play that movie non stop. I picture him signing thousands of checks like that Seinfeld episode.
Burr was always one of my favorite O&A guests and I just saw him live in Detroit a few months ago but still haven't watched his show. Is it in the same vein as Family Guy and South Park?
i grew up in Ireland, in the 90's, surprisingly similar family dynamic, broken wooden spoons, screaming adults. anyone else? what creative punishments did your parents/grandparents come up with? i got put in the coat closet in the dark as a punishment, it was like kid solitary lol (that one sucked! id prefer a smack)
I think I was 9 I went through my father's personal belongings and stuff he kept hidden he woke me up at 2 in the morning lifted me out of bed by my throat and made sure I understood never to touch his things again
I thought they stopped doing those endurance tests like the Simpsons 500 episode marathon after that guy went on a shooting rampage after losing a "hold your hand on this car the longest to win it" competition. They're not good for you, some never recover.
All I see is "Fresh Balls".... Speaking of which, does that stuff work? I should look into it. Another success story for product placement and my dirty balls.
Around 9:00 Bill talks about good material that has to be cut due to time. I am disappointing that Netflix isn't above the spoon feed mentality concluding that entertainment shows produced by of for them must be constrained to time restrictions. If it's good, let it role. We can handle it. Then I was thinking... I expect the expense of the animation is the consideration. What a task though, of what to leave in and what to leave out. (Bob Seger reference)
@@judaskennedy true, it may not have been Netflix at all. It may just be production costs that they themselves would have to incur. And yes, pace of the show is an important consideration. I'm guilty of typing before hearing the conversation to that effect that followed. Thanks
Finally Season 3!!! We need to put all flat earth believes on a cruise ship to Antarctica so they can see the earth is round and hopefully Bill is out there in his submarine :)
