Keep in mind, that these songs, and the Rocky movie, was not about winning in the end. He actually lost the fight. But as Rocky himself said, all he cared about was going the distance until the final bell. If he could do that, he would be happy. It is not about victory. It is about personal endurance. And that is the lesson. In life, you don't have to win. You just have to endure.
Mark S it’s not about how hard you hit, it’s about how hard you can get hit, and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done!
Whenever I feel depressed or thinkin’ my life is bad or going to be bad, I listen this and this song gives me hope and joy about my life. Stay strong fellas 💪🏻
Recently i fought in a boxing ring, he was a tough boxer, i took all the beating and successfully survived 3 rounds without getting TKO. I may lost but fear couldn't hold me back. I WILL WIN IN A REMATCH.
I dedicate this masterpiece of music to my late uncle who recently passed, he loved this film and praised it since he was a child. He taught me the value of not giving up and talent alone does not guarantee anything. - Rest in peace, 1966 to 2022
Rocky is not just about boxing. It is about LIFE. Anything that you feel you can't quite conquer. If you believe in yourself and just keep getting back up. That is why this film resonates so much
'He's all wrong for us, baby... I saw you beat that man, like I never saw no man get beat before, and THE MAN KEPT COMING AFTER YOU. We don't need that kind of man in our life.' Probably the most incredible line in the entire 8-film series, and it didn't come from any of the leads. God bless Tony Burton.
The fact that they knew that these two tracks *had* to be used at the climax of "Rocky Balboa" is probably the greatest tribute to Bill Conti's score imaginable.
the people destroying our world know that things like this fuel your soul, which is precisely why things like this are now intentionally overshadowed by dumb bs
Y me imagine a mi hijo. Hablando normal. Siendo feliz ... Completo. Wow. Y todo por el tema de ROCKY. Si.
At the moment this song is helping me through some serious depression and misery. Thanks. Wanted to say thanks for all the supportive replies, Very appreciated. wishing anyone else who’s fighting a hard battle to make it through as well.
No composer has ever married a film’s core themes with music better than Bill Conti. Listening to this, you can understand what Rocky is all about without even watching the film. That’s how exceptional it is.
1:55 The disbelief on Apollo's face, that he beat this unknown man continuously, only to see him stand once again and ask Apollo for more. It's really one of the greatest moments on the screen, helped massively by the timing of this great music.
He knew he'd lost in that moment. The fight was still looking like a victory for him, but he was playing Mario Cart against a 7 year old & the kid was hot on his heels. It was never ever meant to go like this.
1:30 was my mom's ringtone.... the reason for the ringtone was that for her it was to give her courage to answer the phone deal with the world's problems..... sadly however like many others who lost their mom's and dad's during this pandemic, remember this theme song that it gives you the courage to carry on with your life and be stronger at the end..... Rest well mom......
"Ni tú, ni yo, ni nadie, golpea tan fuerte como la vida. Pero no importa lo fuerte que golpee, importa lo fuerte que puedes resistir los golpes y avanzar, así es como se gana. Si tú sabes lo que vales, ve y consíguelo, pero no puedes estar diciendo que no lo has logrado por ello, por él o por ella, eso es lo que hacen los cobardes y tú no lo eres, tú eres capaz de cualquier cosa".
I was 255 pounds in February 2022 but from March too December 2022 I’m now 194 and lost 61 pounds I feel healthier faster and different I take my inspiration from the rocky films
¡Momentazo, carajo!
The best song in the Rocky saga, without a doubt. The most dramatic and emotional, plus they place it at the exact moment when Rocky gets up again to face Apollo.
Love that scene, Adrian's shocked face when she enters the arena just to see her man knocked down to the ground, to when he gets up and her face realizing he's unbreakable.
Bill Conti is definitely a genius. I some times think he is hidden by today's big composers (Willimans, Zimmer, etc.) that have made fantastic soundtracks. I hope Conti is not forgotten.
"Rocky" was a work that broke the pessimistic trend of American New Cinema for many years. Overcoming setbacks and hardships and winning the victory I have loved this movie since I was a kid. Tears come out when I listen to this song.
Same. Emotions every single time, all these decades later. Common man gets his shot and rises to the occasion with dignity and courage. Saw Rocky at the movies many times in 76-77, but the first time, Whew! Bouncing on air out of the theater! Music is beautiful and reaches hearts everywhere. I played trumpet in school, largely inspired by Gonna Fly Now. My daughter now plays French Horn. Both figure very prominently in this piece, a cinematic master score. I coached each of my daughters in soccer for years, and we listened to this song and Lose Yourself on the way to every game. So years from now, I'll remember it for that. Thank you, Bill Conti, for composing part of the soundtrack of my life.
You are so right. I saw it with my own boy. He wanted to get on the varsity team so bad. Got cut as a freshman, sophomore, and junior. Was told it didn't look good for him as a senior either. But he worked and worked and refused to listen to those who told him to give up. He had tough moments where he almost did, but just kept at it. In the end, he made it. And the coach told him he had earned it. He ended up pointing, starting, and achieving a goal a lot of peers gave up on. Never quit!
quan Michel healthy eating. Working out means noting if you are putting garbage into your body. My quick suggestion is cut carbs, sugar, red meat and alcohol to no more than 1-2days a week at most. I also switched from coffee to tea. I lost a good amount of weight within 30 days after changing my eating habit
This song has many meanings for me. When my dad was in the hospital with Lymphoma , I played it to give me hope that he would keep going. After he sadly passed, I played it constantly with bitterness and sadness that he had fallen and not gotten back up. For almost a year I cried every time I played this song. A year ago or a little more now, I had finally pulled myself out of the pit of sadness and despair and decided it was time to get into shape in a way that I never had been before. Training regularly, eating right, and it was time to once again change the way I feel about this song. It still hits me emotionally, but I now use it to fuel me during my runs or when I’m at the gym. It also helps to keep me close to my dad who was up until he got sick very fit.
Rocky is a movie about an underdog’s defeated spirit striving for a chance at greatness with all his heart, sweat, and tears. This music beautifully conveys those sentiments. It gives me goosebumps..
This music reminds me my son. He is only 6 but he is a big fighter with strong willing. Even the problem with his health can't break him down. I'm so proud of him...
If you passionately and humbly ask for his help and guidance, god will never let you down. And if you're son arrives in heaven before you do, you should fight as hard as him to do what it takes to meet him their. God bless both
When I was a kid my dad took me to see this movie and I loved it so much. My dad is gone now but I think of him when I hear this. Love you dad. Eddies wife cheryl
Funny thing is, Bill Conti wasn't going to be the composer, but other dude that couldn't for some contractual reason. So it was a coincidence that we got this masterpiece.
I daresay one of the best-composed final five-minutes of any feature film. Spanning from when Apollo realizes it's a fight to Adrian telling Rocky she loves him. Absolute perfection.
It’s hard to hold back the tears when the ending of this beautiful soundtrack comes. It’s just absolutely wonderful, and one of the greatest soundtracks to date. Thank you, Bill Conti.
From 4:10 until the end it either gives me goosebumps or makes me a bit emotional. I don't know why this happens, maybe because these movies meant so much to me as a kid?
This tune is more inspirational to me than the “Gunna Fly Now.” Don’t get me wrong, that theme is also incredible but there’s just something about Going the Distance that just gets me pumped and gives me chills.
The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It's a very mean and nasty place... and I don´t care how tough you are, it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently, if you let it. You, me or nobody, is gonna hit as hard as life. But ain't about how hard you hit... It's about how hard you can get hit, and keep moving forward... how much you can take, and keep moving forward. "That´s how winning is done". Now, if you know what you worth, go out and get what you worth. But you gotta be willing to take the hits. And not pointing fingers saying: You ain´t what you wanna be because of him or her or anybody. Cowards do that and that ain´t you! You´re better than that!
personally my favorurite song as a kid i loved theses rocky movies theres so much memory's for me for as long as i live i cant forget the songs they made sometime i wish i could go back to being a kid and rewatch the films all over again.
To all of you who reads this. No matter if you're having the worst day of your life. I leave you with with this. "GET UP YOU SON OF A BITCH! Because someone loves you."
I'm using these Rocky clips to help. Me walk again after a car accident shattered my pelvis and after surgery I am slowly taking small steps it's long ahead but this music inspires me to believe I can walk again
@@bosnia7429 Everyone has his own score from a movie, but the greatest score ever??? Maybe for you or many others, but Going the distance is not the greatest score ever. You can`t write that this is the greatest score ever.....if he should write "This is MY greatest score ever", then i would say, good for you. There are many more, and i can`t choose wich one is the greatest score ever. My greatest score is from Once Upon A Time In America, you know what i mean?. Everyone has his own opinion of his greatest soundtrack....so do you.
the final bell makes me tear up. I never realised how much i love it omg and it feels so nostalgic and good to me. I remember when my grandfather introduced me to this show and i binged watch all of them with him after. Definitely one of my favourite memories and i will always love thsi show and soundtrack its so beautiful and carries so much emotion.
Mike Simpson Rocky will be the most inspirational movie series of all time. Rocky inspired me 2 reach down deep 2 go the distance. This is a all time icon, more importantly Rocky has brought me off the canvas and made me realize that I can or will succeed no matter what I do with my life
