Every athlete triathlon, boxer, marathon, etc knows that first day training before you get into an event and that first run. You have the biggest enemy you face it’s yourself.
I spent five years without working in an almost terminal depression, I wanted to die. Since I was a child I grew up watching Rocky, until thanks to God and my father who told me let's go to the plaza for a walk I was able to go out, but Rocky was also part of this, I started to jog and lose weight listening to Rocky's music, my life has changed thank God, Rocky is motivation. God bless you Stallone.
Rocky Balboa once said about the issues we face in life : "it's not about how hard you can hit, it's about how hard you can be hit and keep moving forward." So my friends, keep moving forward and never give up. Glory to God.
The vibe of that whole morning scene you just feel it... The atmosphere the morning darkness and morning light with that music is a perfect morning scene
I like when he’s jogging and in the Backround you can see a lady going to work and you know that was real. It creates a reality that today’s films have absolutely no clue.
Rocky changed me & many in 1976. I was 23 beginning to lift weights & work out. Joined a gym. After the movie i became super motivated & began running too. Im 71 & still have a gym membership
Thinking about the fact Rocky did this for a long time without this music in his ears, only his mind, makes me believe in the power of the discipline he developed through the years. Imagine only how was the sound of the streets, the wind, few cars... your own breathing while running, your exhausted body, and your dreams making your own soundtrack
Personally this is the best rocky scene and not just because its motivational but because he is alone in rough conditions. Having a tough childhood and not having much money. Goes out running in the early hours of the morning and one day shows the world who he truly is💫
This scene reminds me of my dad. He wasn't a boxer but grew up poor, volunteered for the army then was in Vietnam at 18. Came home really had no one to turn to worked construction until he was able to build his own business. Dad always went out jogging every day think it is how he dealt with his PTSD he even met my mom while out on a run. Metaphorically this scene reminds me of my dad when he was struggling and building himself up.
Some people just don't get it what this movie represents... This scene should tell them, it's absolutely timeless. For me personally it's even epic and beautiful than the Rocky Montage Training. It's shows us the begining of starting something that we think it's impossible to reach. For a moment we ignore it and decided to work hard, it’s really really hard and cruel, you have to push it until there’s no energy and strong left. But if for a miracle you can go trough all this, refuses to give up and stand still, you will became a legend, just as Rocky did. When the scene changes to him climbing the steps for the first time, along with the heavy, desperate and strong growing Philadelphia’s Morning theme by Bill Conti, give me CHILLS. You begin to testify the born of a legend who couldn’t have gone that far and break all the odd’s. The impossible maybe it’s only for the others...
Rocky me inspiro a entrenarme toda mi vida.
Great script writing and production here. Rocky is not only out of shape he's hurting here. It just makes his success from hard work by the end that much more appreciated!
I know this feeling. Just before the pandemic I started to run at 6 AM every day. And then my life totally changed, I got a remote good job, worked remotely in my house and literally I was ready for everything
That's impossible. People are offended by.....EVERYTHINGGGGG!!!! But I do totally agree. It would be great. I think Hollywood needs to cut down on computer generated special effects and go back to the older style. Cartoons too. REAL animation....not todays trash.
This makes my eyes well up because I can feel his pain... even though he succeeded in his goal, it took sooo much out of him. Life has the exact same path. You must work hard and sacrifice to achieve an ultimate goal. And bill conti is the most amazing composer that can take you there musically. Thank you.
Good morning mr Rocky your this video has made us realised that you would stay always in shape and young even after many years will continue inspiring across the globe 🌎 Hats off to a great legend ❤
This scene, with the images, the music and the somber mood, is absolutely mesmerizing. I’ve always wondered how many more great films Stallone could have made had he not turned his attention to action adventure blockbusters. What, after all, is money compared to great art?
Framing the first morning run with music like this is very smart. To go with something upbeat and motivational (as with the later training montage) would undermine both the physical and emotional growth Rocky must now endure. He may have committed to the big fight with a sense of hope. But as we see here, at this moment, he's still in the same lesser shape he was a week before. He has work to do, and it won't be easy.
It's like the first phase of the daily morning workout, the silence before you become popular, before people get to know you, before you achieve something. The phase where you yourself will have to push yourself, you yourself will have to motivate yourself. Not many can really go with the flow of this silent phase before your achievement makes the noise.
i don’t like Philly and yet i love all the Rocky movies and moments like this … Maybe this is why i wanted my son to play piano. Something human about a piano and how it captures how we feel … (ROCKY - We all Are Rocky)
There is something beautiful seeing movie scenes like these.. Almost 50 years later, seeing how simple it all looked. An early morning, almost empty streets, couple of cars and a man on mission.
I watched rocky 1 the first time in 1980 on Video. I was 11. This scene impressed and motivated me the most. Because after that i understood the real message for success. Persistence !!!!!! Till today. Thank you Rocco💙
I like how alone he seems in this scene. People say boxing is one of the longest sports for a reason. Not many people are willing to come out there and run with you at 4 am either lol
Lol. My son has been running up a mountain with me for a few years now. He'll beg to differ. He's 7. I'm 41. Just like Rocky 4, don't forget about elevation training.
You see how tough it was for Rocky to get up those stairs and think about this. They waited for the sun to come out and a few hours later Stallone ran back up and waved his arms around and danced for the Gonna Fly Now shot. The magic of movies.
