I found a WHYY broadcasting Company podcast about him (and his sickness). He was an American hero, of course an author and a stand-up comedian and actor very successfully at everything public. Bill broke through racial barriers by working so hard and into our living rooms with his family sit-com ugh as doctor on the tv ... If you show up at his invite to his house/bungalow/hotel room/back stage please never accept the invitation. It seems he was a genius with a raping illness. I don't like him, but it is an interesting study of oddity in psychology. And he is a masterful storyteller he can fool everyone
I agree. And this one was his best IMO. I heard he was running a high temp/flu when he recorded this. He was under weight etc.. yet this could have been his best performance ever. The way he used the mic was epic. Regardless of what he was judged in life, this shit will alway survive in the long haul. Its just too good to bury. Not going to happen.
Oh my God, in the late 60s my mom bought this album for me, and we played it on a console also. I always loved Bill Cosby. It broke my heart when he was on trial, but I'm glad he's out.
This is an important part of my childhood. I remember walking down the stairs into the living room. There was a voice from somewhere and my Mom and 3 siblings were sitting on the floor laughing. I had never heard the console stereo on (Yes "console stereo", search it.). It was my introduction to records and Mr. Bill Cosby.
Bill Cosby will always be the greatest comedian in the world. His comedy routines are hilarious, especially Fat Albert, and the way he talks about family is priceless.
I am with you. There's some folks they got real upset that he dared even to think about buying a national network. And they try to tear him up they tore up a lot of his wealth. But I'm glad he got out of prison. Because I know it's some other folks that have done even worse. And they're not out on the front line like that.
Dang right, there's no evidence that he did anything wrong. All evidence is just circumstancial, and there's not physical evidence that he did anything wrong.
Remember listening to this album when I was a kid! I like to remember Cosby for the great work he did for education and family values then for the shit that he's going through now.
And that is the best type of comedy. A person who can make you laugh without having to rely on bad language is a true artist. Bill and Dave Allen were the kings of comedy for me.
The One and Only! Childhood would never have been the same without The Albums of Bill Cosby! A man who made you laugh without cursing or vulgar told stories. He always had a way to explain adult subjects in a manner that got the point across but cleanly. So many fantastic memories while listening to this and other albums. Even went to see him Live in Pittsburgh back in 1970. That was an experience I will not soon forget! If you had not seen him live you missed one special event.
Me, my mom and my siblings listening to this album. A lot of laughs and it was like he was talking about our dad. My father would walk by us while we were giggling and probably thinking what’s wrong with these people.
This album brings back such great memories. We listened to it over and over, and it always made us laugh. We had this one and "Wonderfulness," which had the Chicken Heart bit. How could a man that funny be such a twisted person?
I love his God-gifted GENIUS! I know most of his marvelous stories. My best friend and I recited his monologues word for word...to whoever would listen. Still love and am praying for him and his family.
I have this memorized in a way - I almost always know what's going to come next, and I haven't heard it in decades! What do you do with these people, who ruin their legacy? Do you throw out their talent?
Never! "Cancel culture" is evil, it's organized ignorance. You recognize the flaws in the person, and you don't excuse their actions, and you accept the rightness of the punishment they deserve. But their accomplishments stand on their own.
No. All of my heroes, Moses, Paul of Tarsus, Grocho Marx whoever...have had great success and equally great failures. Who am I to say what I would have done given the exact same circumstances
Like many great comedians and writers, the older you get the more you get out of it. No matter what you think Cosby may have done, the man is an absolute genius where social observation is concerned.
I agree with you completely. People do stupid stuff. People on drugs do even more stupid things. He IS an iconic actor and comedian of my lifetime. And I don't really care what he did or didn't do. I still admire him and find him HILARIOUS!
Paula Harris Baca. I think that no matter what OCCURRED,,,,,,,He could not have been a single entiidy. some people put themselves in situations,,,,,,,,,, feel bad about later and choose the wrong path just to rectify their own mistakes. Not saying that he's clean!!!!!! Just saying that dirt DOESN'T FALL IN ONE PLACE. THINK ABOUT IT......OBAMA 1.
When I was a child now this one I didn't have. I wasn't the one who bought the albums anyway. But in the album collection was why is there are, and wonderfulness. Bill Cosby is a Gifted Man. If you can make it funny and clean without no cuss word. I love this
My very first album I ever bought...i think it was around 1972....the next Album i bought was Edgar Winter..............Man, let me tell you....Those were the days.
this older stuff is absolute brilliance. sadly his TV show, while great, caused that fame on a new level to go to his head and his brilliance was afterwards forever gone, and this has nothing to do with the charges against him, I'm talking strictly his comedy mind. his movies were pathetic and his comedy never the same. I'm glad we still have this though.
"..and I hitchoo five-five-five-five-five!...an' I hitchoo six-six-six-six-six-six!...an' I hitchoo seven!...an' I hitchoo inna eye! WAAAAAAA!" Oh god, I'm dying here.... And why isn't there a band called 'Big Jell-o Sheriff,' yet?
I still have the copy my parents had when I was little. I had a suitcase turntable I’d listen to this over and over with until I had it memorized. #freebill
Dude, You ripped my post and re-uploaded it; the vinyl clicks and pops are identical. Please at least give credit and put a link to my channel in your description. Thanks.
Yes. Take nothing away from what he has admitted to doing while acknowledging the genius of his work. I struggle with this a lot as Cosby was a staple of my childhood, but there is a way to acknowledge and appreciate while remaining objective. I still can laugh at his comedy, though it’s also met with deep sadness and a sense of great loss. It’s possible, but it’s hard.
i love bill cosby but i wish this was video instead of audio with the picture of the album this is not half as funny without the video because watching bill while listing you get to see the facial expressions and bill is a one man act sitcom . all the comedians are dead to me a corps in the ground
I remember borrowing this from my uncle’s album collection. Ok. I stole it. It’s hard to resist the urge to separate the art from the artist / who is a horrible, and very sick human being.
kawaiiafangirl I am not condoning his behavior but come on, what where these women doing being alone in the a room with a man, really and a hotel room? And from what I hear they more then willingly took pills handed to them. So alone with a man in a hotel room, drinking and taking unknown pills given to you? PLEASE! Yes he was a predator but they knew what they were doing the all wanted their careers to be furthered or something else from him. Bad choices on the women’s part. They should consider themselves lucky it wasn’t a serial killer. I feel for his wife. I truly do. It must be humiliating
