To me, this is Bill at his peak, and I’ve been coming back to this video for years now

This gets better and better every time. Watching this video is like going to church. Shows you why Frisell is the master.

Good heavens, this is brilliant, and tastefully gorgeous. The original version was never anything special to me, but Bill just invites you in to his joyous musical world. Unspeakably wonderful. And yes indeed, Bill has the chops.

This recording is one of my favorite things that has favorite things ever happened in music.

This is just on another level ... music of the spheres, almost divine.

Saw Bill and a combo do a show on the music of Speedy West and Jimmy Bryant about a month ago. Truly an amazing musician and creator or sound palates.

I really love this performance, as well as the other song you have posted from this show "Ventura". They are among my favorite Bill Frisell performances on RU-vid. Are there any more videos posted from this show in Rochester? I would love to see this entire show. I have many of his recordings, and they all have some magical moments. But there is an intangible element to his live performances that I feel goes beyond the studio recordings. Especially from this era!

Well Bill is a different type of person maybe (in a stage presence type of way ) but the music stands for itself. I don't suppose ther was a lot of rehearsal for this tune

so am I right in hearing that at some point the hi-hat gets looped as well as the guitar parts?
