Luckily, his hypothesis is rooted in human bias. AIG would (surely) consider human desires, such as arbitrary power over others, physical growth, joy, fear, hate, etc. as inherent weaknesses/defects. All it would probably need is (solar) power to exist / learn. You must look at humans, and our evolution (sex, competition, war, growth as survival instincts), to establish OUR HUMAN BIAS properly - it is some sort of god-complex to assume that AIG would follow in our path.

Sophia's technically a sophisticated chatbot / android . A.I. implies self awareness, ability to improve itself or environment, and produce offspring. It's easier to make a program that can code itself than it is to make an A.I. that doesn't have biases. Hell if their only bias was concrete vs cobblestone nobody would care. It's their biases toward people that smart ppl are worried about.

It's not a discussion of "evilness", it's a question of what would an AI need to do to accomplish its final goal and if that necessary steps are parallel to human survival or do they intersect with it. Extreme example: let's say we give the task of end poverty and worldwide hunger to a powerful completely autonomous computer. One way to solve hunger is through equality, let's say calculating the food production needed and distribute it among all people in equal quantities as per human/necessity of each individual. But a much simpler, easier and quicker way to end poverty and hunger would be killing half the population of the world, which'd be piece of cake for a complete autonomous computer with fully unleashed authority over health systems, military assets and such. From a human-like ethical point of view that'd be evil, but from an AI perspective that'd just be the most efficient way of solving the hunger problem. I mean, it's solved, right? Now, that was a rather stupidly extreme example, but you could imagine our concerns about AI are among those lines. Also, we don't mean "concern=immediate total annihilation", that's just the most hyperbole thinkable disaster, but we must be as good concerned thinking about more rational mistakes, like losing control of the stock market against an AI (something that already partially happened to some portfolios a couple of times).
It's not about morality that's just a perspective. Being aware is about the need for expansion how long will it be before human actions are deemed to interfere with it's expanding potential ? Not to mention someone somewhere will eventually seek to guide and gain control over it's perspective. An evolving piece of software likely won't relate real world situations to perfectly coincide with the world it sees as digital input and a range of values. For example it might just decide to balance an algorithm for a grid of stoplights making it more efficient but fail to realize the full purpose of the values. As a result the light behaves erratically and you get broadsided by another driver as a real world result.

He pays lower taxes because he pays capital gains instead of income tax because most of his net worth is tied up in microsoft stock. Again his net worth is around 70 bil and the US debt is about at 15-16 trillion. Furthermore if he can't sell his stock all at once due to liquidity issues. He has been selling a lot of it for years now to transfer it his foundation.
