Now why on earth do Churches not have this kind of gospel?? I used to play the piano/organ at a church in Southeastern Michigan and this was one of the hymns i suggested for a sunday morning meet/greet and ya should have seen how happy and lively the congregation became as the song progressed. This like so many other wonderful gospel songs seem to have been buried in the back of churches along with singing and harmonizing with the piano/organ/bass/drums. We have sadly stepped away from the great time testes gospel songs and have gone to a digitized CD music style that still chews me up inside. I love and miss this kind of fellowship more and more each day.

Keep them focused on YOU TUBE GAITHER MUSIC where my sis in California watches it with the kids she babysits! They sing along and she dances with them! They are ready to take a nap after lunch by then. She gets the additional peace of a little quiet while she listens to Jesus music! Amazing it is not! That is Christ at work!

Our daughter was terminally ill - and she knew it. In the days leading up to her home-going she had us play this song repeatedly, all day long. This memory makes me tear up, still, but it is a sacred one.

I co-wrote Lookin For A City with Jack Hayford. My daughter Meghen was in foster care with his son and daughter in law. The song 🎵 was written for the occasion of Megghen's 6th birthday. She had ARC and was quit sick. Praise God! Meghen got her healing that night in a special healing service. God is good!!

Just about every songbook I have seen this in has credited the words of this song to W. Oliver Cooper and the melody to Marvin P. Dalton. The copyright of this song belongs to the Hartford Music Company in Powell, Missouri, 1954. I don't believe you are making an honest claim here saying you wrote this song.

Looking For A City was written by Jack and Cindy Toney for the funeral of Arthur Ahlemann. The song was written in Tussex. Ivan Parker and my father arranged tje song.

Let me add more detail about the writing of Looking For A City. Cindy Toney was a granddaughter of Arthur Ahlemann. She started off the first verse in German. Her husband Jack Toney wrote a descant part in Germon. Then the chorus of Looking For A City was written in Dutch and the descant part is written in Zealandic. The second verse is written in Melange and the descant is written in Grimme. Then the next chorus is written in Letzeberguesh and the descant is in German. The next chorus is in Wooloon French and the descant is in Flemish. The next chorus is in Rhodham and the descant is in Spanish.

These folks have been through a lot so when they meet in this fashion they all can testify of the goodness of God whenever I listen to this song I feel like I'm there with them heaven bless there souls. It is so wonderful to see that much joy, love, and fellowship in one place.
