I was childhood friends with Bill. I was embarrassed of my home as a kid and my parents were filthy drug addicts. One night we were walking through the kitchen and he went to get something out of the sink and grabbed a knife or something with a cig butt on it and I was horrified. Bill began laughing so hard ( which put me at ease ) and I knew he had an incredible sense of humor. His dad introduced me to the music of Frank Zappa and Floyd which shaped a big part of my life.

That’s so cool you knew Bill growing up, one of the funniest SNL cast members for decades. Frank Zappa was one of the smartest and prolific contemporary musicians of the 20th century. His interviews and quotes are still legendary. Wish we had more like him to call out the music industry for what it is today. His son Dweezil is an awesome musician just like his dad too. Moon Unit is an artistic scholar.

As a teenager, I sort of forgot or ignored that my generation didn't invent weed and it *might* just be possible that someone 20 years older than me might actually know about how smoking pot works :D

I periodically think back to my first time getting stoned. I was 14, like Bill, and I was at Wildwood NJ. I remember hitting the bowl a bunch of times (probably too many times) in one of the shitty motels and the next thing I know I was on the boardwalk riding one of the tram cars with my boys. I remember staring wide-eyed at all the lights passing by, being really freaking hungry, being the most chilled out I've ever been up until that point in my life, and hearing "watch the tram car please" echo over and over in my head ... it was a great night

lol I remember one of the first times me and a friend got high my grandma asked if we wanted jelly beans and he was like "yeah that sounds good" and shut the door and we walked away. idk who was more confused afterwards, her or us. xD HIGHschool, the good ol' days.
