The WDR BIG Band feat. Bill Laurance on piano with his composition "The Good Things", arranged by Vellu Halkosalmi. Principal conductor Bob Mintzer leads the WDR Big Band. Another solo will be played by Paul Heller on tenor saxophone. Guest percussionist Bodek Janke plays. "The Good Things" is one of the 9 exciting pieces from the joint work with the WDR Big Band, from which a CD was also pressed. Recorded on November 24, 2018 at the Kölner Philharmonie.
A wide audience may be familiar with Bill Laurance founding member and longtime keyboardist of the internationally successful band "Snarky Puppy". He has an enormous musical range: his pieces are sometimes chamber music, sometimes broadband and sometimes poetic. Bill Laurance has significantly expanded the boundaries of contemporary instrumental music as a pianist, keyboardist and as a composer.
