That's so spot on. Once upon a time, Maher pretended to be irreverent to anything and everything, now he's basically telling everyone to stay in line and worship the Founding Fathers rather than interrogate the things they wrote and thought.

Burr is a good cookie. Love his comedy. He proves you can be an edgy comedian without being an asshole (e.g. what Maher, Gervais, Chapelle)

The best was Burr ragging on Maher for being 12 years older than him. In classic Burr fashion, he uses a very accurate example stating that when Burr was 12 years old doing 12 year old stuff in grade school, Bill Maher was 24 years old doing 24 year old stuff. It's a great comparison and really illustrates the differences between the two of them and that a 12 year age gap is significant.

It was a different time and nobody was ever taken as a slave due solely on their race or color of skin. The book of Philemon also had a plee to release a slave who had turned Christian.

Not only did Jesus not speak out against slavery, but God (Jesus) inspired Paul to say that slaves should obey their masters. The most simple ethical question one could ask and the all powerful creator of time and space apparently got it wrong..

Things like Roman courts having a mechanism to hear complaints from slaves against their masters, and Augustus feeling the need to pass laws to lower the number of slaves being freed by their masters suggest that it was quite a different beast.

Sam repeatedly said it wasn't muslims he was going after, but the doctrine of Islam, and his criticisms of the beliefs were accurate and fair. the "race IQ" guy, Charles Murray, is a mediocre researcher, and he has wrapped himself in victimhood ever since The Bell Curve came out, but its far from white supremacist manifesto some people claim it is. I won't defend Bill Maher except to say every once in a while he still has a decent take on some things. He's gone of the bitter-old-man cliff lately and its annoying af, and he's always been a smug prick but he can be really funny at times too. I liked Michael Brooks a lot, but much like old school Bill Maher, I never agreed with him about everything. but Emma came AFTER Michael, so I don't know how you heard Emma first. She's simply not as clever as she clearly thinks she is, and often reminds me of Bill Maher.
