As a Yank, I always grew up around Bluegrass, Country and Folk in this country but when I started to learned the extent of influence from Scottish, Irish and English traditions on our music here it radically transformed how I viewed this music. I’d like to think it’s our own way of keeping a passed down tradition alive, of course with continued innovation and influence from other cultures. Proud to have Scots-Irish ancestry, even if it’s rather distant! 🇺🇸🏴🇮🇪
