I remember watching his movies during school and they were the only science movies I enjoyed. Not only did I learn, but they were fun and didn't bore is to sleep like other movies. I remember people would be like "we are watching a Bill Nye the Science Guy movie today!"

I am so grateful for what Bill Nye the Science Guy did for my generation! I grew up watching the show and fell in love with science! Now I have a B.S. in Chemical Engineering and read science books for fun. I remember Bill came to my university to give a talk. I was so excited until I realized I had a Transport Phenomenon test on the same night. I asked my professor if he would change the test date because "Bill Nye is coming! He's the reason I'm even here!" Unfortunately, my professor did not change the test date. I sure hope I have another opportunity to see him in person!

Thanks for all of your hard work, Bill. You inspired a generation - likely many generations - to take up Science as their life's goal. I'm a Neuroscientist now, and growing up I watched your program on TV and in the occasional Science class. Everybody knew the theme, and everybody sang it! You made something distant seem reachable. For that, you will always be remembered by me and by the millions whose lives you touched. All the best, Science guy!

I was the videographer on Bill's first ever TV appearance. It was for Almost Live and he played a crazed guy with a pyramid made out of bendy straws on his head. Later we did a bit that Bill seems to forgotten about and I feel it was the birth of "The Science Guy". In the bit he explores why steam comes out of manhole covers. When the camera looked down the open manhole we saw why... It was Bill dressed in drag playing his own mom taking a hot shower. The title of the sketch was "Bill Nye and Why". A few months later Bill Nye the Science Guy was born. Two years later it was a PBS hit show. BILL BILL BILL BILL BILL

I watched Bill Nye the Science Guy on "Almost Live" in Seattle when I was a kid. My favorite part of the show. Enjoyed this short piece talking about how he came into show business and "changed the world."

Mr. Nye was a guest speaker at a conference my organization was hosting, and I had the privilege to pick him up at the airport and take him back the next day. He's a super-nice guy, very down to earth and an all around good guy. So sad that these are rare qualities these days but at least there are people like Bill Nye bucking the trend. Thanks Bill! Keep it up!

Being a Brit, i didn't grow-up with Bill but i've since watched his stuff on-line & he's a hard guy not to like. Even today, there's the odd thing i can learn from watching his show.
