What about them? They are quick-disconnect headers, running open for more power (and badass noise). He put them there to make them easy to get to, so he doesn't need to crawl under the truck every time he disconnects the mufflers. And maybe sort of an ironic thing. Or maybe all he had was a set of rectangular mufflers, and he wanted to use them up.
