It turned out they have not been challenged in the tournament and wanted to set themselves up for a challenge, hence allowed to be down 16 at half. No wonder Big Mac was just smiling at the half.
when u field remy in, its something like boom., thus crucial moment make this guy special, this guy as a filipino got NSD in his blood a "never say die attitude" of a player that has been running on his fellow filipinos...good job remy gilas is waving👍
True team Championship, true team season. This miracle belongs to the whole team, all season long. It's easy to say, so I'll say it: keep recruiting and developing like you have with these guys. I love the toughness, swagger, and team-oriented attitudes.
the very best decision u ever made as a coach in that competition is when u field in remy in the crunch time👌and the result is a big W" good job coach👍
Local radio guy asked Remy when KU won the Big 12 tourney title what is on the forecast for March. Remy's response, "A lot of winning." Great foreshadowing. Rock Chalk Championship.
The only person who can guarantee it. When you watch back the tournament, whenever KU is behind or ties or just leading by 1 or 2, Remy wants to take the shot. Otherwise, he would distribute and flex playmaking. But that last block on Love, that is as clutch a defense as one can be. So he's clutch in offense, and now, clutch on defense.
Huh? Kansas won? I changed the channel at half, thinking that game was a lost cause. Later last night The post-game was on and North Carolina's 5 players looked like they were at a funeral. Amazing, I missed a helluva game thinking Kansas was overmatched at the half.
KU fan 35yrs. After the way Kansas lost to that Self lead Illinois team in 2001 NCAA Tournament? The TOUGHNESS of that Bill Self Illinois team...... I said immediately after that loss "if Roy does leave? There isn't ANOTHER Head Coach in the country I want other than Bill Self." Kansas Jayhawks basketball isn't what they r today without Roy Williams but Bill Self ushered in a new level of grit/toughness Roy's KU teams didn't have.
That adds another color to the growing legend of the Cognac's KU experience. For a Coach to have doubts on you and in his words that he will turn it up if he gets healthier in March, and he still managed to perform well on the limited opportunities, wow.
I've seen KU came back at the 2nd half on one season..if I wasnt mistaken..it was 2008 when they were previously won..To me..it's Team Works and No Selfish win..is a KEY of SUCCESS.
well KU didn't even hit a 3 until it was tied again at 50-50 with 10:23 left in the 2nd half, then only took 3 before that. So while I agree, they relied more on the higher percentage close shots to will their way back. Regardless the 3pt line should be equal to NBA.
Is Bill right, all 5 starters still have eligibility? Imagine if McCormack and Braun return??? I don't think Ochai is returning, but 4 of 5 would be.amazing.
@@julieburck9613 I think everyone that was in the NCAA in 2019-2020 automatically got an extra year. That why Remy and lightfoot were eligible this year. I think Ochai and McCormack could come back but Ochai is likely declaring for the draft (as he's predicted to go mid to late 1st round). Braun is likely to explore the draft but might come back (some say a late 2nd round pick) as they think he can raise that by playing a year without Agbaji overshadowing him. Haven't heard much about McCormack, that's why it'd be nice to have him back.
Lol none of these kids were the ones questioned in that scandal. Of the 3 kids involved only one ever played minutes for Kansas and that player was cleared by the NCAA two b separate times.
