Billabong PUMP ,red hot "pumping" sessions with Occy, Richie, Ronnie Burns, Munga and the rest of the Billabong crew in exotic Indonesia, Africa, Hawaii, and Europe. No lie! Best audio and video out there!
Prime Occy - what a fucking monster. This movie means so much to me. I wore out the VHS tape of this as a kid, and still listen to the soundtrack in 2020 (not the Rabs bit, obviously haha)
This is the best surf movie. Shit hot surfing, R.I.P. Ronnie Burns. Occy at Reunion island with Concrete Blonde. How skinny are Richie Collins legs! Ronnie at pipe. Painters n Dockers rockin on. It's got it all. Thanks. I felt like I was fifteen again, pullin cones and surfing "ladies" , the greatest reef in Newcastle. And my m8s, Murray and Jules. How good were the 80s?!
No one is going to mention Ronnie Burns just toying with g-land like it’s 3’ beach break? Then just getting shacked through speedies, my favorite part😎 RIP Ronnie
I had the honor of being out in the lineup in 1983 at Sunset with Ronnie Burns and a great friend of mine Angie Reno it was about 6 - 8 ft bigger sets smashing down on the west peak those were a bit intimating for me but not to Ronnie Burns and Angie Reno they were both killing it to say the least REST PEACEFULLY RONNIE BURNS YOU ARE MISSED BUT ITS IMPOSSIBLE TO EVER FORGET YOU, MASSIVE RESPECT TO YOU MY FRIEND.
Damn, this puts right back in the 90's. Lived on the North Shore from 89-99 and this surf vid was one we watched ad nauseum. Surprised that tape on the VHS didn't melt after the one thousandth viewing. Good dayz.
End of a beautiful era , the 1980s . Im from the states but I remember when Occy beat Curren at the OP Pro , I was so stoked for him . That was one of the greatest heats ever .
I LOVED all these Billabong surf movies! Pump, Bunyup Dreaming, and especialy Green Iguana. Brings back memories of better days gone by. Ronnie Burns RIP.
Occy at Reunion just laying it down!! Best VHS of my childhood, along with Taylor Steeles Momentum series, add a little In Black and White Rinse and repeat.
His comeback story is not just the the greatest ever told in surfing, but the greatest comeback story ever told in the world of sports. Occy is one of a kind.
Shinning like the suUun... They scored a sick day a Jbay, the angle shows you just how fast that wave is. I love the part when he accidentally head butts Lisa Anderson, during the born to be wild lip syncing.
Has anyone else noticed the similarity in Ronnie Burns' style and Andy and Bruce Irons' style? Too bad Ronnie passed away in 1989 and Andy in 2010. RIP Ronnie and Andy, and also Marvin Foster.
These sessions at Saint Leu in Reunion Island... Nostalgic ! Now bathing, surfing and almost all nautical activities are banned on the whole island due to the bull shark ant tiger shark issue... And this gorgeous long left of Saint Leu is nearly not praticeable ...
@@CarlosDavidbjjyes it is. It is in Reunion Island, a French Island, next to Mauritius. It is French but geographiccally part of Africa. The long left is Saint Leu, a reef break where the waves break like this almost 300 days a year.
@@adam__smith Ahahaha letaaaaaaaan, very funny and cool :) Yes! Living in W Ireland now lots of surf but a bit cold. Never forgot getting pounded in the shoredump down the road in Coogee! Hope you're well mate ;)
I have to say to all those that perhaps weren't exposed to a large variety of 80-90s surf flicks...alot of damn good soundtracks! to many to list! ok try "Freeze Frame" "Wave Warriors III & IV" "Filthy Habits" "Breaking on Through" "SC locals" cheers
Flippin' love this movie! I was 16 yrs old in 1990 and living in South Africa at that time was hard to get our hands on these films. Any idea where I can buy a copy of this now-a-days online? I still have Green Iguana on VHS and loved anything Occy then..lol. Amazon don't have it anymore by the looks of it.
I've been looking for an 1980s surf flick called "Shock Waves". I think that one has super radical footage of Occy with a short hair cut, almost like a flat top or crew cut and I thick wearing yellow baggies, radical backside and front side at a fun Maui reef break. Excellent water shots of him full on carving, and also radical front side layback slashes. I was a little grom. Anyone remember "Shock Waves" and / or know / or seen it on youtube?
