OMG you’re so right about The Greatest giving Ethel Cain!! I love it even more now! My favs are Birds of a feather, The greatest and Blue! Thank you for reacting to this amazing album :)
I know it has a different meaning in the context of the song/album, but the line in Blue "I tried to live in black and white but I'm so blue" speaks to me on a very deep level. I've always felt like I am extremely aware of the flaws in what I like, and even the things/people/whatever I dislike, I can still understand why they are, what the underlying reasons are, etc. I've felt pressured many times to either be one way or another, to say yes or no, when what I was thinking was "I dont know"/"it depends". And I think that is due to my contemplative nature, which naturally tends to make me feel more pensive, more blue. So in that lyric I see this feeling I've been feeling for basically forever: no, I refuse to conform to either black or white, I'm shades of blue
Chihiro is about when Chihiro from spirited away sees haku after growing up and realizing he has changed and won't let her in his life and no longer loves her
Great reaction as always🥰 I’ve been listening to this album non stop since the release, love it❤️ Crossing my fingers for a double album🤞 It’s difficult to have a favourite because I love them all😍 At first I thought “Birds of a feather” was mediocre, but now I love that one as well lol
Hi Fern🥰 I watched the intro, and you’re so awesome 😎 Love your look❤️ I’m definitely watching this whole reaction tomorrow, absolutely love this album, but now it’s bedtime🫠 Are you doing a reaction to Aurora’s new album when it comes out? I really hope so😍
SKINNY is still my favourite, same breathy singing as What was I made for and Billie does that SO well. Saying that, every song on it is so good, if it doesn’t win AOTY I’ll fight everybody
You sound amazing when you sing with her!!! This album is phenomenal!!! ❤❤❤so when I first heard The Greatest I was literally speechless and in tears because that was my marriage of 8 years. I was the only one working as a teacher with 3 kids. I left last year. It’s been the best and hardest year. Then I heard Lamor de lavill and I was like wow this was this year!!! Took me to the club totally Late 90s style!! I’m 46 and I think Billie and Fineas are Genius!! Loved this video!! Thank you!! 😊
Awesome reaction, thank you! I was so happy to get an updated/legal version of "True Blue" where Billie is actually older than 14/15 years old LOL. This album is incredible, but we have to talk about "Birds of a Feather". I am literally the only other person on the internet who doesn't like it. Actually I really really hate it. I force-played it 20 times in a row so it would grow on me and it just got worse. It just sounded more and more like Wham's "Last Christmas" covered by Rick Astley 40 years before he was cool. And that horrible Uk soap. Shudder. It's the sort of dreary middle of the road shit that I assumed Billie would serve up from the start but never ever did. Anyway, the album is magnificent, and my version now has 9 tracks and it's PERFECT. Thanks again!
@@mirandameyer237 Srsly. Not only can you sing "Last Christmas" over the top of the chorus (same chords, same pace, same vibe) but the lyrics are so clichéd. First time I heard it I immediately thought: Please don't rhyme "forever" with "together," don't do it, NOOOOOO! 🤣
She and devon were never seen before her relationship with Jesse so we dont know how close they were. Devon was in a new relationship though even before she dated Jesse and after the breakup she was seen a few times closely with Devon. So i guess the guilt and shame was mostly her feelings and they are closer than ever. I was gettin Ethel vibes for the Greatest as well ❤
You should watch all ghibli movies! Maybe even react? 👀 i absolutely love princess mononoke, laputa castle in the sky and nausicaa of the valley of the wind
I have a new video idea for you! Since I LOVE the melodies you're always coming up with when improvising to the songs you might make a whole video exploiting that talent! You could, instead of reacting to a song first, just listen to the acoustic version of the song without the voice but the lyrics and sing to it. So it's like doing karaoke without knowing the actual meldody. I'm sure it would sound amazing and be even more interesting to listen to the actual song afterwards and how the artist sonically expressed their lyrics compared to how you did it!
fern, i found this sweet, fan made video yesterday that i thought you'd enjoy since you're one of the 2 reactors to this album i've seen who actually know this amazing film. for chihiro: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-kSWEgckL06o.html i always love your billie reactions. thanks! edit: just watched more and your commentary after the song about not watching the other films. definitely watch my neighbor totoro but try to find the original troma studios, english dubbed version with the original voices. it was only released on vhs but there are some rips on the torrent sites and possibly elsewhere. the versions on dvd are after disney bought the studio and feature dakota and elle fanning as the voices of satsuki and meg and it's just not as good. maybe it's just a familiarity bias for me. it's very much a kid's film, but still amazing, similar to kiki's delivery service. princess mononoke is great, but more young adult fantasy. grave of the fireflies is brutal and heartbreaking. i confess to not seeing the most recent couple of releases. peace.
