I’ve been to a billie Ellish concert and she sings everything live - because the concert/festival you reacted to is a big deal they put her songs in the background on the recording when the audience is singing instead of her because they usually cut out the audience singing
Billie is amazing live and everyone that has been to her concerts can attest to that . I promise you that’s where she shines and that’s where I think she elevates her music even more . This video does not due justice and I don’t know why . She’s an exceptional live singer amazing stage presence . I am 47 and I can easily say she is my favorite singer songwriter of all time ! Along with her brother of course . It’s a big statement to make I know I question it all the time but still come back to the same conclusion. Lol .
That's an entire AV performance using a dozen or so red cameras capturing lasers, LED screens, animations, dance, live band, and audience participation with 80,000 at the concert. What were you guys expecting? A club performance? Or a talent show on TV?
My favourite live performances I can think of by her off the top of my head are: - no time to die at the Brit awards - all the good girls go to hell at some American music award I don’t remember which - the entire set of the Apple Music award live at the Steve jobs theatre, or at least after the first couple of songs (this was all acoustic and the stage was insane) - I love you at the Greek theatre - bitches broken hearts Vevo live - copycat at mahogany sessions - cover of end of the world at bbc radio one - cover of you don’t get me high any more at bbc radio one - cover of Michael Jackson’s “bad” on like a version - all the good girls go to hell at Howard stern - when the party’s over at Howard stern (these are both insane) Even if you don’t react on the channel, I would recommend these because they almost feel like additional songs
Billie does sing live, but has a background track playing at the same time. Her drummer has been with her since the beginning. He plays live as well as her brother on guitar or keyboard
"a background track" is misses the true performance aspect of putting on a headline show for 80,000 people. This song, for example, has 80 background tracks just for instruments. That includes the sword's swish sound. They got that while her father was sharpening some kitchen knives. Anyway this is a whole production and not a talent show on TV or a low rent band space you find young dudes with tattoos banging away on cheap drums.
@@Loop2React for example for a recent one What was I made for? (Live from lollapalooza Chicago 2023) or Billie eilish- everything I wanted (live from global citzin power….) 😌 or Billie eilish lollapalooza brasil 2023 (TV) Are just some examples but there are a lot more 😁 I can also tell u some of the faster songs too if u want
The backing track is good for the song cause she has to jump, nearly every artist that jumps excessively like her will do the same.. check out her entire setlist
Man, if you want to actually hear her sing live, don't pick a song that has no vocal range and one of her most hype jumping songs haha. You stopped the video right as the show was going into a more lyrical song. Idk what you expect, she's not a screamer. This is the type of song her voice gets lost in because it's so production heavy and the crowd is so loud.
I’m a millennial and musician and it's insane how people always take her worst performances to watch 😂 she has few bad ones in 6 years, but people always watch the worst ones 😂 btw she's the best-selling female artist in Brazil HISTORY for now, she sold 7.9M units surpassing Adele's 4.5M, and her first fans were them, Brazil, so she was very happy and excited and kept jumping and running around the stage like crazy to entertain more than +100K people, (she made history for the biggest crowd) .. and she was ALONE on that stage, so always singing with a breathy tone in those conditions was completely impossible in that moment and frankly I'm happy for her that she didn't care having fun with them bc it was her moment. But she also sang songs acoustically with just the guitar, live, but when it comes to these more upbeat and stupid songs for her like just 4: Bad guy, Therefore I am, You should see me in a crown, Oxytocin with just low few notes, with the vocal harmonies in breathy dark tone Etc , in the chorus she always lets the crowd sing that part using the backing track, while she jumps above and entertains the crowd. Billie and her brother always create some songs on purpose in which there is always question (artist) and answer (crowd) in her compositions for her shows ... so in live performances she and her fans become one. where in these few “more stupid” songs, she sings a part and her fans the other part (especially chorus) .. but it can happen that if you jump so much, you can't get your breath, because singing so low and breathy is difficult.. you have to have control over your voice which is 10 times worse with a breathy tone jumping than when you do a belt, because you risk that not only the voice doesn't come out but also the notes, you don't get them. Btw her vocal influence which is especially noticeable in her latest album are 50's jazz singers like Julie London, Chet Barker, Peggy Lee, and then more indie Mazzy star (hope), My bloody valentine Etc.. all breathy, intimate and emotional singers, she is just a mix of many jazz, trap, soul and indie rock genres! she goes from trap/hip hop/electro (rock too) upbeat songs to soul/ jazz songs, her music is truly versatile in genres .. and her shows are a journey. But obviously she is not the usual dance pop artist, with always dance fun music, it’s a mix of happy/sad moments ups and downs. She is amazing! Trust me! But you have to like those low soft (jazz/soul/indie/dream pop) genres to appreciate her music!
