BJK has been my heroine since I saw her in 1966 playing at Wimbledon. The contribution she has made to women's tennis and equality is huge. So pleased the USTA named the BJK Tennis Centre at Flushing Meadow in her honour. She's not just a national treasure, she's a world treasure.
The book is a "must read" for tennis fans, as well as people who believe that men and women should be treated equally. BJK is an absolute inspiration to EVERYONE.
I love Billie Jean King. I watched The Battle of The Sexes many years ago. Of course my two favorites have always been Billie Jean and Martina. Much love from Alabama. 🙏✌🏼❤️
Pressure is a privilege- a King quote on a plaque as the players enter center court at u w s open named Billie Jean king center. If your fortunate enough to work hard to have the success to play on the center court your privileged- never dread chasing your dream . Live in the present. Our feelings are usually based on what just happened - something we can’t change so concentrate on the present moment and if you do you give yourself the best chance to show the real you. Aging too - only the lucky ones age . There are plenty of young people didn’t get to live a full life. Would love to be here and be 75. These mantras from king are priceless. She’s grabbed life and lived the life she envisioned in her head and why not.
