She is such a legend. I don't know why there are so many dislikes. Women's history and women's rights are so important and Billie Jean King is a leader for women and the LGBT community.

This woman is one of the greatest athletes who not only beat the best in the 'Battle of the Sexes,' but also brought forth social changes for the good of all, not just for women. Her story continues to inspire others to turn their aspirations into life-changing realities. To never settle for less, because every individual who dares to dream is worth more than what mainstream institutions dictate. To follow our own paths. So much hate on this vid, I want more tedtalks like this promoting womens achievements as you dont hear about much of this in everyday life and its important. No words to say how much I admire BJK, and have done since 1966. Then, I admired her wonderful tennis, but later, watching what she did for women's tennis, and then for gender equality, it increased my respect for her 100%. She fought for her cause constantly, she was the person who was the symbol of the fight, and she continued playing great tennis at the same time. Thrilled she is getting the recognition she so deserves.

Billie Jean said something offensive when she said a gay man had to talk about football in order to cover up his homosexuality. Actually, gay men do not talk about or are interested in sports. They are more interested in perpetuating outdated stereotypes about women and thinking like women than they are being men. In my work experience, gay men were incapable of talking about a sports event that had happened the day before. I saw a study several years ago about gay priests that concluded that they were emotionally immature. My experience with gay people tell me that this is true.
