Pie Fish I was your age in the 90:s when punk had it’s new wave, with Green Day releasing Dookie and Offspring releasing Smash. Those were the days. Rancid, Pennywise, NOFX, Bad Religion. There were so many good punk bands. Some say Green Day and Offspring sold out because they signed major deals with big labels. But that’s just envy.
Hello people! I hope all of you are doing well and stay awesome as much as possible 😊 I am a huge green day fan and it is such an honour for me to be able to do a cover of one of their greatest songs ever💚 Therefore check out my cover n feel free to drop your review! Thanks people 😘 Link's down here 👇 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-gqU4dGKTCc0.html
@@abby3147 I certainly am. You obviously don't know much of Johhny Cash or his back story. Dude was a rebel. Before any of this pop punk shit. Don't need no spikey bracelet to be a punk bro. It's a way of life not an outfit.
@@abby3147 he even implys that he can't play guitar well, he just gets by. Same thing the stooges said, and Ramones. Have you ever heard of fugazi. That's real Punk right there, every show 10 dollars, don't do any advertisements wirh any magazines that promote cigarettes or alcohol. They make their own records they pack their own touring van, they don't even sell f****** shirts. And they don't even look Punk, lol, whatever the hell that looks like!
@@fins6191 yeah but watch live performances back then... He was like REALLY good. You can expect as much now but he stills do a pretty good job, except his voice got higher
@@fins6191 I see what you mean, thanks for developing. But I would recommand live performances from the Warning album era. Not only the tracklist was the best (as it was a kind of «international superhits tour» considering all the previous albums at this time) but his voice was at its best too.
Uh, yes his voice has changed, you moron! Listen to "Dookie" then listen to "Warning" then listen to "American Idiot"... Dookie, his voice is low and American Idiot, his voice is higher. He was in his 20s and his voice was low. In his 40s now and his voice is higher. Do you not listen to their records? Any idiot can tell his voice obviously has changed.
In the 90s we had the unplugged sessions. These at home performances will be considered some of the greatest musical moments in history. Very uplifting and people need that right now.
Yes I hope all the songs he does for Corona Virus end up on a CD to help with the virus in some way, like for the purchase of hospital supplies or something.
I used to listen to this song on repeat every single day when I was a teenager, 15 years ago. I was severely bullied and I had no friends and this song helped me live another day. I am now 30 years old. I have a collection of Green Day guitar picks that I cherish as my most priceless possession. Love you guys ❤️
Actually , it should be the Stock Boys at your local Grocery Store putting Food & Toilet paper on the shelf's . Or the Doctors and Nurses on the front lines fighting this Killer Disease that should be lifting your spirits .
@@dbrew2u Well it isn't making me any HAPPIER thinking about how much people are risking their lives just to work and provide for us. At least it makes me feel a bit better about this by listening to my favourite artists.
Billie is so damn talented, between his guitar playing and his vocals, he absolutely nails both. No matter what age he is, he hasn’t lost a bit of his musical talent.
I love billie joe, loved him even more when i saw that he had the most normal person house. Not some fancy room behind him like everyone else that was on
BJA seems like a cool dude to just hang out with. He still sounds as good as he did in the 90s. Sure, his voice has changed a bit; but it's been 20+ years.
I didnt know crap about this guy or Green Day except for the stuff i've heard on radio for last 25+ years... So last week I woke up in middle of the night to find this song playing on fox news and was instantly transformed... Since then I have watched well over 100 hours of green day material including the wild woodstock 94 gig about a dozen or more times.... so impressive!!! Billie Joe is a true hero!
Yea, although i didn't really think the iHeart stuff was that big of a deal it was more so just sad to see knowing he needed help. Billie is such a badass though, great entertainer!
If you claimed to hear Radio for 25+ years. You should know this song. Green Day and Punk in general literally own the radio in the early 2000s you can't escape a day without Avril, Blink 182, Green Day blasting there. Those were the times.
@@rockzs74r they didnt say they didnt know this song, they said they didnt know anything about Green Day OTHER than hearing the various songs on the radio in the past 25+ years. i know youre probably upset with the "state of music these days" but all you did was bring unwarranted negativity into a positive post about someone finding a greater appreciation for Green Day
I walk a lonely road The only one that I have ever known Don't know where it goes But it's home to me, and I walk alone I walk this empty street On the Boulevard of Broken Dreams Where the city sleeps And I'm the only one, and I walk alone I walk alone, I walk alone I walk alone, I walk a- My shadow's the only one that walks beside me My shallow heart's the only thing that's beating Sometimes I wish someone out there will find me Till then I walk alone Ah-ah, ah-ah, ah-ah, aaah-ah Ah-ah, ah-ah, ah-ah I'm walking down the line That divides me somewhere in my mind On the borderline Of the edge, and where I walk alone Read between the lines What's fucked up, and everything's alright Check my vital signs To know I'm still alive, and I walk alone I walk alone, I walk…
I listend to this song the first time, when i was around 14 jears old like you're now, but this was yeeeeeaaaars ago. Hopefully this song/band/genre give you as much as it gave to me. 😎 So lovely that you heard this song the first time in kindergarden ❤️
I think this is my first time seeing Billie play this song solo acoustic. This was the first song I learned how to play on guitar. It's cool seeing one of my biggest musical idols play it pretty much the same way I did as a kid!
Every customer that calls where I work knows they are calling my place of work (ok 95% know where they are calling... the other 5% butt dialed... lol). I still answer "company name" Cesar speaking.
I’ve loved Green Day since I was a kid. Now they are my daughter’s favorite band. Billie Joe inspired her to learn guitar. We have tickets to take her to see them for the first time but I don’t know if we will get to now😢. Damn this coronavirus crap but Thank you Billie Joe for giving us something to keep us warm during all this!!!!!!!!
I know, it’s awful 😭We live 4 hours away from the closest show and we were so excited to take a road trip to see them. I will be super sad if it is cancelled, but my kiddo will be absolutely devastated. Don’t get me wrong, I want everyone safe, but it really sucks!

When he sings, you can tell it’s him singing. While as other punk bands, it could be anyone! Green Day has a unique sound to their music that makes them Green Day!
@@johnnyG91 If you think about it, I wouldn't be surprised if it's over 300 at this point because of his many side projects like Foxboro Hot Tubs, The Longshot, The Network, Pinhead Gunpowder, etc.
At the end it's like he suddenly realized how loud his gum chewing was 😂😂😂 Also, this was so wholesome!! I wish Billie would do a live stream performing random stuff for like an hour. I'd 1039% watch it lol
I wish I could thank all the artists performing for us from home during the pandemic. From John Fogerty and Brian May to Neil Finn and Billy Joe Armstrong and all the others taking the time to do this, my heartfelt thanks. You are taking something crappy and turning it in to something special.
I love this dude and this legendary group ❤️❤️ amazing musicians 🔥they marked dozens of generations with their amazing music that will forever be legendary 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I remember the first time I ever heard this song. It came on the radio as I was out driving around, and I didn’t even know Green Day had come out with a new album. It was definitely a pleasant surprise because America Idiot turned out to be full of great stuff.
this song fits what’s going on right now and dude his voice is still kills after years of being a performer billie joe armstrong still got it rock on dude
I am glad that Billie plays this this way when solo and acoustic. I have only ever played it solo and acoustic, and hadn’t seen a version like this so I changed what I had heard up a little and it is exactly like this to the strumming pattern all the way through and the ending.
Incredible how he still sings this awesome live, in his age, all the imperfections make you feel billy more as a character, they contribute to the performance
Love this so much, at the same time it's a horrid reminder that I most likely won't get to see Green Day in Aalesund in May as planned. MY HEART can't even
My greatest dream I have was to meet the man himself. He was one of the strongest inspirations for me to play guitar and Billy gave me the willing to begin a band. Thanks for your work Billy
To think he’s still working with iHeart radio after smashing his guitar on their stage, and he put that aside and came back just to play for people in times of chaos. A true legend 🤘
