Billy Barty is the surprise guest on this 1960 episode of "This is Your Life." Also appearing are Mickey Rooney, Spike Jones, James Melton and fellow "little" stars Jerry Maren, Billy Curtis and "Little Billy" Rhodes.
This man didn't need to be 6' tall to be a hero for the ages...& for all humanity. Co-founding Little People of America with Anthony Rossitti was a legacy that outshines even his brilliance as an entertainer. Then & now, he defines the term "Superstar".
these people..like most of their generation knew how to be humble and act with class. We can all take a lesson from these people who knew they were blessed and very lucky to have such success
When I was 10, Billy Barty was at a carnival across the street from my house. He greeted me as if I were a close, personal friend and shook my hand. That's the kind of person he is.
Poor ol' Spike is already feeling the ravages of all those cigarettes...Those quick gasps for breath in mid-sentence; I recognize that all too well from watching my mother suffer... Billy was an amazing comic actor, from the time he was a tyke...
This might be James Melton's last TV appearance, as he passed away the following year, and I can find no later appearances than this one. He was one of the greatest tenors of all time.
Have you ever been able to find “Matthew Labyorteaux.” From Little House on the Prairie’’s episode?! I would really love to see it but haven’t found it!
