@@D2jspOFFICIAL No. Actually he would have probably slammed the movies because he always thought that his books shouldn't be depicted. He always wanted them to stay true to the imagination of the readers.
He is such an absolutely perfect Pippin. I'm a purist about the books, but honestly he's gotta be the best Pippin you could have made, including him being a musician and a goofball all the same. A writer of simple songs, in the same tradition that Tolkien was writing his poetry for. Honestly, we should redo the movies with Billy Boyd writing a bunch of the songs and singing them! Lol.
@@igorpodemski9596 as much as i love Tolkien and his son, they were wrong in thinking that the books couldn't be depicted in movie style. They most certainly can, they just didn't know that anyone could ever make the story a reality in film. And seriously, people would be asking for a movie of the stories that Tolkien wrote if Peter Jackson never made the trilogy. So I am very thankful that Jackson did what he did. It is still a great story regardless of what was cut out or changed. You should be grateful that people like Jackson made Tolkien's story come to the big screen. The books will always, always, be amazing and the movies only elevate the messages that Tolkien wanted the readers to know.
@@goofball944700 Tolkien was alive during a time when not a lot of people had tv's. There was no internet. Only books. So you can imagine that he didn't have a good opinion about the new technologies. He hated movies.
This song, and "Into the West," with Annie Lennox, always bring tears to my eyes. Thank you Billy Boyd for this great gift to all of us who love what the LOTR says about our hearts. ❤️❤️❤️
ONLY if given years and years to make it. I don't want another disaster like most of the The Hobbit(there were a few great scenes) But instead a masterpiece like The Lord of The Rings. Perhaps even better.
I cried when I first heard this in theaters. I was around 13 when the first lord of the rings movie came out to theaters and loved it so much. I also grew up with the animated movies too. Pippin was and will always be my favorite!!!
@@LakayFTW precisely. It cracks me up that the eldest hobbit was played by the youngest man and vice versa for the youngest hobbit. It was even crazier when I realized that Billy is my mum's age and that he was one of the hobbit musicians on the stage at Bilbo's party.
You can see, hear, and FEEL the emotion Billy put into the song! Such a peaceful and yet, melancholy song. It takes a LOT for a song to evoke an emotional response from me but, this song got me right in the feels! I am constantly playing a version of this on my Irish Whistle in C for my kids. I even wake myself singing it in my sleep at times. A pure, simple, and beautiful song!
Just saw the extended version of The Hobbit (highly recommended) and I started bawling when this ending song started playing. It really felt like a last goodbye to all these beloved characters and movies. Beautiful!
Beautiful song, not the best recording environment but still tugs a tear from my eyes. I just lost my younger brother to West Nile Virus. He was in a coma for ten days. We had to turn off the respirator because there was no brain activity after the virus shut down his heart by killing his autonomic nerve system. My hand was on his chest when he let out his last breath and his heart beat for the last time. Merry Christmas, little brother. I never though you would go before me. Tell Mom and Dad and our little sister Cynthia 6 months old, I'll be with you shortly. But not yet, not yet.
You truly are Perigrin Tuck! Whenever I read the Books I see you.. thank you! I am actually writing my masters degree on Tolkien and the Lord of the Rings concerning the middle ages and in how far Tolkien used Legend and Myths to be true.. and there is a Spider AND a moth in my kitchen which i will take as a fuckin sign!!!
Thank you for this warm, touching song! It's so special, and each time I hear it I cry because it's deeply emotional, relatable on so many levels, not just for LOTR fans, for any person who has to bid farewell to the people s/he loves whether they leave this earth, or they just part ways... Thank you, Billy! 💛
This song made me so sad when it played through the credits. It meant the the trilogy was over. I wasn’t ready. Now I own all the movies- even The Hobbit ones! Love these stories!!
Read the Lord of the Rings trilogy in the late 60's Peter Jackson did a magnificent job on the movies. I absolutely love this tune. And of course Into the West. A bit of a coin flip.
