Billy's jokes are not jokes in the strictest sense they're stories and as someone who has seen him twice. From 1st story to last, I was crying from laughter. I was 9 in the 80s when I heard my 1st Billy joke. Park my bike. His 1st joke on the tv show in the 70s and i squealed with laughter. If you haven't seen you should. It made him famous overnight. Every story is a gem.

He's got that friend down the pub talking random nonsense (in the best way) with wild tangents appeal, and like you said his way of talking probably reminds most people of one or afew people or friends they know, it gives him that common man element (like Micky Flanagan) that alot on stage lose or don't give out

Billy Connolly’s stories are each a masterclass in REFERENCING. When he uses a joke, or a story he’s heard elsewhere, whether it is from a family member, a stranger or another comedian, he ALWAYS declares where it’s from. The “wife” joke that made him famous, on his first appearance on the Parkinson Show, was him retelling a joke some random guy had told him, and he opens the story with “a guy came up to me in the street, and I hope I can get away with this (on TV), because it’s a real beauty…”. How many comedians today reference their source material. He has said he hates being heckled because, like yourselves, he doesn’t focus on the individuals in the audience so much, and a heckle draws his attention back into the room and he loses his train of thought. He always reacts with contempt when someone in the audience heckles him.

The funniest man I've ever seen without a shadow of doubt. The incredible thing about his genius, is that no two stand-ups are the same. There's no script, ever. His wonderful ability to engage his audiences in the ridiculous insanities of his observations of human life, the same human life which we all share. God love him. I know he's retired now, and God bless him for all the countless laughs he gave all those years, I know he's not in the best of health these days, but I'll always love watching all those brilliant RU-vid videos of him and his unique stand-ups sending his audiences completely hysterical. What a legacy he left for us all.🙋‍♂ ❤

Billy Connerly has nothing to prove, he is very confident in what he does. What I like about him is the way he presents himself and brings the audience in as it's like he is talking to his own friends. Definitely a O.G in the stand up world.

I read once that Billy says he doesn't tell jokes, he tells stories. Those tales are as good as they come. I don't know of a more down to earth comedian, some of his recollections of his days as a welder in the clyde shipyards or as a flok musician with Jerry Rafferty are wonderful. Many of those were told in interviews, particularly on the Parkinson Show where he was a regular guest. For your next look at his stuff I heartedly reccomend the following videos, Billy Connoly - Wildebeast, Billy Connolly - Austrlian Wildlife, and also and I think Nick will love this one, Billy Connolly - Don't drink the water in Ibiza.

Billy says he never has 'a set'. He just has a wealth of stories and meandering thoughts and he draws from all of it whenever he's on stage. Basically it's just a 'stream of (Billy) consciousness'!🤣👍 It might be tempting to think that (because so much of his 'material' is so funny) it's planned. But it's just because he's such a funny guy. Anyone who can make colonoscopies funny 'on the fly', HAS to be funny!

I love how Billy will credit and namecheck other people's jokes and anecdotes... whether its a fellow famous comedian, one of his heroes or strangers on the street or in a cab. A lot of comics might rework and recycle jokes as their own... which is fine... but I always like how he pays homage to others.

Billy Connerly put a song out around 1974-75 it was his version of a song by country singer Tammy Wynette called D.I.V.O.R.C.E and a great song, and Billy's was a kind of come back from a mans perspective of Tammy's original version. . . and blardy funny...if ya wanted to react to it, you'd be better to play Tammy's serious version first so you cand see where he's coming from, was a big hit in New Zealand in the 70s

This is something that Billy Connolly does, he credits others, he will tell you that it was someone in the street, a funny story or comment etc, he is open to not being the most important person at that moment, this makes him just like you or I, it's a clever way of making the audience feel at the same level, whether that's a live audience or a TV audience, it's a very disarming way to be, clever without really being noticed in the moment, look at his early stuff and he is just the same, comments people in the street have made, he credits the person and doesn't claim the joke for himself, wise man.

Billy's problem is that he always just rambles on about his day and within 30seconds we know he needs to be committed for urgent medical intervention. After 30minutes, I need to be committed. Genius, goat, God's jester in chief. I feel I'll be on the mend when he passes.🤣🤣🤣🥂👍🙏🇭🇲 I still haven't got the punch line about the mood bracelets but it doesn't matter when he didn't even mention Lance Armstrong once! I'm pleased to find serenity in dream catchers and never tell Billy about MY day. That's very comforting.

There's nothing paranormal about Tarot cards but they do have a purpose. They enable you to look at any situation from another perspective, even if you don't have another person to share your perspective with. It's all random and can have no connection to what is happening, but you can use this to triangulate your own feelings and subconscious knowledge.

I am very wary of Psychic’s and I think that is why God gave me an adopted daughter who is one of the best I have ever seen. He has a sense of humour and she can see and talk to spirit. I thought we were alone in my house but no, she cleared that up for me at 4 years old. I can’t lie to her because they tell her when I try. She asked me if I could see all of the people and talk to them like she does. I didn’t want her to feel different so I told her I could. Then she asked me why I kept walking through them and sitting on them. I am the only person she has ever told and if she had something important to tell someone she told me to do it. My extended family started thinking I was psychic and a late starter but she was never wrong or they thought that was me. My husband’s Aunt was psychic in a different way. She could see the future and I thought she just did it with us. She would give us a reading and tell us to write it down because her reading went for up to 20 years. Some of the things she told us made us laugh because there was no way we would ever do what she said. Then some years later we would be packing up our home to move and find the papers. Everything she said had happened. We didn’t know until just before we lost her that many famous people from America and England came to her for a reading. Didn’t know anyone else knew what she did and they would get mad because she refused to accept money or anything. She told them that would be abusing a gift that God gave her and she would lose it. So if you must, give that money to a charity you care about. She loved our daughter and she helped her through some hard things she had to learn. I have a lesser gift and the 3 of us together became stronger. We spent many hours laughing until I couldn’t breathe. She was like my Mother that I lost at 24 and so kind. I am skeptical of many famous Psychic’s but I know what a true one is.
