@Billy Andrews you're right there were plenty of guns about in the years after the war but they weren't often used. Whenever they were it made the front pages: Ginger Marks Cornell,Harry Roberts etc. The scenes in Rise of the Krays showing the twins regularly carrying guns in shoulder holsters are nonsense they weren't stupid they knew they were under constant surveillance and old bill would have loved to catch them in possession the same in the first film "the Krays" where they shoot up a pub with machine guns total bollocks. They had access to all sorts but they didn't routinely carry guns like some characters in an American TV series
