In 1960 my school said there was a religious conference in Bournemouth and we could go to it to participate in the discussions. A handful of us, despite being non God-botherers, were given permission to go. We took the train to Bournemouth and attended the conference until lunchtime. Then we buggered off to look around Bournemouth. I found a second hand shop selling LPs. I bought a couple of LPs.. One was of black American gospel and the other was Sound of Fury. I think I paid 7/6 for the 10" LP. My friends and I were generally contemptuous of British rock singers but we made an exception for Billy Fury (And for Screaming Lord Sutch) A friend pointed out that there were two basses on the recording and that Joe Brown was the guitarist. I heard somewhere that Joe Brown was the only guitarist in Britain at the time who could play solos in thirds - on two strings at the time. I still have the Sound of Fury LP.
