All of these players are either now established or likely to become top players in the PL in years to come.

This guy, Michael Corleone, has responded to every comment on this video defending Chelsea as if he owns Chelsea and is responsible for their decisions. He’s acting like Chelsea care about him, and acting like I’m not a Chelsea fan. It’s not about Billy, it’s that, blatantly, there is a long list of players who Chelsea have let go who have since developed and got plaudits elsewhere. Even Callum Hudson-Odoi scored a screamer for Forrest last week, Chelsea can’t buy a goal, not even for a billion. I won’t respond again, the original comment is right, there is a long list, there’s no argument.

So glad Billy came to Brighton , this lads a real talent but needed development which it seems Chelsea couldn’t be bothered with. Under De Zerbi Brighton players are moving up a level . Some credit to Graham Potter who definitely started the improvements from a team holding on in the PL to a top 10 team.

The English language is so vastly beautiful. Words for 'actual words' that you didn't even know ever existed!!! Of, and for, different meanings and various prepositions..... Billy most important ability is his cleverness. He just had to find a coach who would help him apply that cleverness with body-position, as well as passing triangles that would make him press-resistant. He use to lose the ball at Chelsea or pass it backwards. No he progresses the ball really well. Big fan of all the hardwork he's put it, as well as the manager for having confidence to play him. McTominay needs to head to Brighton and stop all that running.

Love Billy’s skills. Been following at Chelsea in academy times. So happy for him. Badly used with Norwich and Farke and then injuries and Chelsea has missed a big catch with Tuchel and Boehly management. He will be recognised as world class midfielder but time will tell. Good luck Billy.

Billy Gilmour is the one that got away from Chelsea. He can get better still. Wish him well at Brighton, never got a chance at Chelsea. Bit like Tomori. Gilmour on loan at a crap Norwich whose fans scapegoated him. Most European clubs in general are seen as stepping stones for most players. Even clubs like Dortmund lose their best players to bigger clubs. Pretty much most players dream to play for top clubs like the Big 6, Barcelona/Real Madrid, etc... Also, players at big clubs make loads of money.

The wouldn’t have the players they have today if they didn’t sell a few over the years. So the statement that they would be competing for every trophy if they didn’t sell any players for 5 years just does not work. Brighton cannot compete financially with other clubs. They are willing to sell, if they believe they can reinvest the money to further improve the squat.

Good player but unfortunately lacks the pace and power to play at one of the big teams. His lack of goals is also a problem.

@@Shelsighthe’s right though….i saw him play at the bridge and he look like a 14 year old, he’s so tiny I was in east upper and I could barely see him. It’s one thing being 5”8/5”9 and quite stocky but being 5”5 and and really skinny is another. Players like Xavi and Iniestia are both small along with Paul scholes but they were NOT 5”5 they looked a lot bigger 5”8 and a bit stocky.

@@roolaing Xavi and modric were two of the best midfielders to play the game. Comparing Gilmour to them is just plain dumb. Theres plenty Gilmours out there but it will be along time before another xavi comes along.

@@CHAPPY-sp3kv he's playing at a higher level for a better performing team. Enzo is playing with such mediocrity against sides like forest, and Bournemouth. Gilmour is controlling the midfield against Man Utd and Newcastle. I know Enzo did well in the WC, but he was playing in Messi's Argentina side. I reckon if you placed Gilmour, who is a similar age and type of player, into that side, he'd also thrive with Messi. Gilmour has also played well with Scotland. He battered England's midfield a few years ago, and looked really up and coming. All the while Enzo played in a sub standard Portugese league. Sure, Gilmour wasn't in favour for like 1 season at Chelsea, but that was in a terribly organised Chelsea side. Genuinely Chelsea paid 100m more for Enzo than they sold Gilmour for, which is hilariously bad business, just because the hype around Enzo at the time. Gilmour is proving week in week out now though that he is actually the better player.

Some disingenuous fans here... I am not a fan of Frank Lampard, but Lampard tried to give Gilmour playing time and he simply did little with it. Eventually, it is best for both the club and the player to separate... Gilmour can develop elsewhere and stop resting on his laurels as a Chelsea player, and Chelsea can attempt to buy a better fit.

We only have players at Chelsea who are elite and special, journeymen like Gilmour are better suited to clubs like Brighton who let’s face it won’t be long for the EPL. Sad but true, don’t get me wrong I wish him well but he’s deluded if he ever thought he could pull on the blue of Chelsea on a regular basis. FACT

Chelsea wouldn't have needed to spend that amount on Enzo if Billy was around. Tuchel messed things up just like Sarri did. Lampard tried to make something right but he wasn't ready.
