You would absolutely destroy the impeller in no time flat, if you did. CAN it pick up dirt? Yes, it will pick up dirt. SHOULD you pick up dirt with it? No, you shouldn't use it to pick up dirt piles exclusively.
Just run a mulching mower with a bag on it and you are done with the job in half the time. If leaves conveniently fell into a huge pile, all by themselves, this would be a good option. I would use this for chipping branches only, if it's built for that.
I'd have to disagree, your dumping the bag too many times and its allot of physical labor, besides dumping the bag into the trailer one by one instead of getting all the leaves to the trailer and sucking it up seems way more of a time burden.
@@Robey1Kenobi what you're not thinking of is that this machine chops up the leaves, allowing you to get far more leaves into the trailer. I've been using these types of setups for 5 yrs now. We wouldn't get half as many leaves into a trailer without this type of machine.
