I had visited a Billy Joel concert three days before in Oldenburg. I was 17 years old, and it was one of the greatest time in my life. The woman's name who walks from the background to the spotlight is Crystal Taliefero. She is great,
Great Billy Joel, great Crystal, great everyone, what a song. Only 391,000 views, but you can find a video of a road rage fight with 3.000.000 views, tht's in a nutshell the world we live in.
For your information, the wonderful Crystal Taliefero was 'hitting all the high notes'. The late great T-Bone Wolk on bass guitar, Liberty Devitto on drums, Dave Rosenthal on piano, Tommy Burns on lead guitar and Mark Rivera (saxophonist) on key boards. This concert was broadcast 'live' on German TV and on BBC Radio 1. I was privileged to attend Billy's concert in Paris two or three weeks earlier.
Billy Joel film I’m a 17 year old filmmaker working on many screenplays at the moment and in the last couple months I’ve really fell in love with Billy Joel’s music an I’ve been seeing in the comments the desire for a movie. I’m not a fan at all of the rocket man or bohemian rhapsody films so I was thinking of something completely different. Thinking about it called something like ‘Oh, Billy’ About the old man’s life from piano man Goes through his life playing Billy Joel songs over non-diegetic songs as they don’t really exist yet, sorta Billy Joel acting as the score for the film with all his music. The songs shape the sequences as much as the sequences shape the need for the song. Also some scenes will match with the famous music videos, for example, after prom the old mans left in the hall after all the celebration left alone, but obviously they don’t start signing ‘the longest time’ Then about half way through the movie when the man’s getting old an his life is starting to fall down in a monotonous way he’s drinking in a bar in the late 60’s, he’s slightly drunk, when he asks the man who’s being playing the piano who’s now having a drink something like this “Sing us a song, you're the piano man Sing us a song tonight Well, we're all in the mood for a melody And you've got us feelin' alright” The man walks away from the man seeing this as the delirious wandering of an old lonely man. When he moves we see a boy say the bar with his father watching the old man. The man then leaves living the rest of his life, reconnecting with his son before he dies. After his funeral the son stops at the same bar where he has a drink to remember his father when a dark figure in the piano starts to play ‘piano man’ he looks over, listening, as his remembers his father and in a way let’s him go in an emotional manner as he watches the dark figure play. Fades to black an piano man continues over the credits.
I thought it was brilliant . He couldn't hit the note at that time and sold it out to and amazing singer and still looked cool doing it .Well played Billy .
lol, this guy has balls... saying in the video description that he posted a youtube video that is basically an illegal copy of a DVD - and on top of that, he is boldface lying... notice the "3sat" in the top left corner of the video? That's the logo of a German TV channel, that had the concert in its program and he recorded it from television (judging by the video quality, probably in the good old days with a VCR and later converted to digital form)
The title track off An Innocent Man album (1983), he said he wanted to record this before he could no longer hit the high notes himself. Inspired by the music of Benny King, and also influenced by the neighborhood A Capella groups that would sing on street corners when he was young, it's just a beautiful song recorded immaculately - and I try to listen to that studio cut once a week.
Not really sure why people are raving about the back-up singer. She simply hit the high note that Billy no longer was able to hit but which was well within a female singer's registry. Absolutely brilliant song though with very meaningful lyrics.
@@sallyoneill8147 she sings her ass off. She's a very competent singer and instrumentalist. That's the reason she's been in demand for many years by top notch musicians. That's not PC, but a very talented musician.
Yeah so My dad the CRAZY paparazzi!!!!! He doesn't go to the concert or comedian event..... He'll WAIT OUTSIDE FOR A COUPLE HOURS!!!! Okay this was a little bit of my therapy to communicate my INSANE family!!!!
