It's SO POWERFUL watching this, so SO many times on You Tube over the years, and just now in a completely different light .. can't possibly express how sad I am (tears in my eyes) .. it must have been completely off the scale to have been there, in the room, as it unfolded, with all those people .. and for Elton to walk out on stage .. did you have any idea that was going to happen? No, I did not have any idea. In fact, my friend and I had tickets around the 30th row but when we got to our seats, they were blocked off with cameras and filming equipment. We told the usher standing right there that those were supposed to be our seats. He just smiled at us and told us to follow him as he walked us way up to about the 10th row where our new seats would be. We were pretty excited as you can imagine and asked him what was going on. He said they were "filming something special tonight." I will say this was one of the absolute loudest concerts I have ever attended and especially once George announced Elton, it was so deafeningly loud that honestly, we could not even hear what they were singing after that point. They must have really toned down the crowd noise substantially to make this video. Exact date was October 20, 1991.

Obsessed with this. I really didn't get into George Michael's music until recently. My parents were traditional as I was growing up and he wasn't listened to for his lifestyle. After his death, I heard many clips of his music and also stories of how kind he was. So I listened to his songs and watched news clips on him. What a wonderful and profusely talented man! I only wish I found that out before his death. Glad he left his music behind for us to enjoy. Rest In Peace !

This duet came out just after I joined the Navy in 1991. I remember buying the cassette, and playing it over and over again as I was driving to my first duty station in Colorado. This song brings back a flood of memories as a naive 18 year old kid, scared to death to start life. This duet is truly a masterpiece.

I’ve seen Elton John twice here in Honolulu. Closest I’ve been to George Michael was wearing out TWO audio cassettes of album Faith while renovating my sailboat for 18 hrs a day, over three days! Yes--audio cassettes played on my Sony “boom box."

I snuck it into my house, 'cause if my mom had known I could play "I Want Your Sex" on my boombox, I would have been grounded for life. I played that cassette tape until it broke at 19.

I was born in 1982. From the first time I laid eyes on George Michael, as a little girl, I was enamored. My mom said I used to carry his albums around everywhere and just talk to his picture. There was something so beautiful about his voice, his smile....his eyes. When he was forced to come out about his sexuality, it saddened me that he had to hide that part of himself for so long. I was 16 years old at the time. It didn't make me love him any less or think he was any less beautiful or have any less of a crush on him... If anything, it made me love him more❤

Fact - the video was lip synched. The recording had happened earlier, and George Michael begged the recording company (Sony) to release a video of it. He knew it would be gold. So they recreated that night for the video.
