Toots is a legend in this part of the world. The jazzy tones he gets out of his harmonica are out of this world. Wonderful seeing them hitting it off together!
That was beautifull ❤ To me also among top five of his. Have been looking into Toots Thileman myself, A name I remember 😇 From Belgium, lived from 1922 - 2016 🙏🙏🙏 He has been to the States, but might have been to old to travel Thank you Jamie and Harri
This was London Wembley arena in 1984. Toots played on studio version. There is a video on RU-vid with toots and stevie wonder playing together. Worth checking out
Jami, you have hit another home run with this awesome choice. Billy Joel is a wonderful treasure! It’s been years since I’ve heard this one. Harri is obviously delighted as well. Thanks Harri and Jami 🌺✌️
I've seen a bunch of bands live, but the best shows musically? Billy Joel hands down. Dude is ALWAYS in tune. Vocally he sounds just as good live as he does in the studio. Honestly, he sometimes sounds BETTER live. The only guy I've heard who comes close? Eric Clapton.
A great song that comes along when Billy’s voice was just about able to hit those high notes for the last time and so he wanted to pay tribute to those 1950’s acapella groups.
The whole An Innocent Man album was a homage to the singers, groups and styles of music that Billy grew up with in the 50s and 60s, and this song was a nod to Smokey Robinson & the Miracles.
Another number from the Innocent Man album is. Christie Lee. If I’m correct you have done six songs from the album, still leaves a few that you will definitely enjoy!
Harry's, you must react to the official new video of billy joel new song" Turn the lights back on" , coz is so beautiful, and trust me tears will come out from you for sure.
Harri, please do next the react of the (official brand new video & song) of Billy joel "Turn back the lights on", you will have a goosebump for sure and cry 😢
Underrated song! And I really love this particular concert, at Wembley in 1984. I think it was peak Billy in the '80s during the Innocent Man tour. The band here is super tight! You should check out their performance of the Longest Time, done entirely in a capella. Billy's love for doo wop really shines.
@@mrsyorkshire3216 Billy had been on a long tour by this performance and this was a bit of a struggle for him to sing live during a concert, having already used his voice on earlier songs. He especially struggled with the high notes on this song in this key and even had one of his backing singers, Peter Hewlett hit the high notes on An Innocent Man during this concert. For the studio recording of Leave a Tender Moment Alone, perhaps because he was only singing the one song at the time, he just sounded more in control and it seemed to come to him easier and be less strained.
There are innumerable levels of genius in an innumerable amount of enterprises that can equally coexist on the same day. It doesn't take away from anything.
