Billy Strings performs Pink Floyd's "Fearless" on July 23, 2023 at the Champlain Valley Expo in Essex Junction, VT. Brought to you by Less Than Face Productions.
Echoes, Fearless and Pillow of Winds make the Meddle one of the best rock albums ever. Great to see a young band knows this and that the crowd 52 years later knows this.
I'm 64 and couldn't agree with you more. Been digging all things Billy Strings for about three years now. Just sad I passed on the chance to see him during our last visit to the US. Maybe next Fall our paths will cross again in Northern California.
Billy is on a whole new level. Him, Molly Tuttle and Serria Hull are carrying the torch for real music! It warms my heart to know that real music isn't dying like I thought it was a few years ago.
I think there are always people making good new music and keeping it alive, but they are often heard only by a few. Popular music definitely goes through periods of stagnation. It is great to see the folks you mention being new, good, and popular.
I am literally sitting here right now and I can honestly say that this is the first time I’ve ever seen/heard this song covered by anybody else. Imho, I think they did a fantastic job with this!!!!! I hope you and everyone else around the world has a great Thanksgiving(even if people do not celebrate it). Now more than ever the planet needs positivity and love from every possible way!!!! Cheers, @medhead954!!!! ✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻
Utterly delighted that this genius clearly listens to those other geniuses, the Floyd. And this is a highly complex piece. A lot of work went into this performance. Thank you, Billy.
Oh, I envy that you’re just hearing Billy Strings for the first time, and you get to experience what you’re going to experience as you discover one of the greatest musicians of the past decade. And once you’re in love, listen to some Molly Tuttle!
Love how he just takes his left hand away from the neck of the guitar with the open g tuning. 😂 So cool. Whoa.. whole new respect for Billy. Fantastic rendition of a great song.
So many great covers of Pink Floyd by bluegrass artists out there. I think that’s an incredible compliment to PFs music. So versatile and stands the test of time!
Best regards from Less Than Face Productions and thanks for the kind words. I can see you on Coliseum Way in Oakland, Doctor, like it was yesterday. Carrying that anvil equipment case.
You have no idea how poetic it is to find this right now. Greww up loving Floyd. Found billy in the you tube rabbit hole years ago. Love him. Today I am fearless. And to find both my fav artists in one. Fuckin goosebumps. Such an amazing job of the song too. Today I am fearless
The song that ignited my love for Liverpool FC. As a kid in 1971, I had no idea what the hell the chanting was at the end but I knew that whatever it was, it was for me! YNWA!
greatest song ever!! I've liked that one since I was small, it took on a whole different meaning when I got older, "uncle cid" really put things in perspective
Someone has to right the ship. The world is seriously off course. Humanity is in trouble. This music is about community. Connection. And love. Can’t happen soon enough.
Looks to be OpenD capo at 2nd. Check it out. But MY Guitar has a good lesson here (GGDGBD, no capo) :ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ohMORZUJq8w.html
Nov 22, 2023 First time hearing Billy Strings. It was quite good. Until recently I'd not heard of Billy but he gets considerable promotion when touring through New England and online.
I have always Loved this song, glad to see it covered, your rendition is close to perfection. You say the hill's too steep to climb, chiding You say you'd like to see me try climbing You pick the place and I'll choose the time And I'll climb the hill in my own way Just wait awhile for the right day And as I rise above the tree line and the clouds I look down, hear the sound of the things you said today Fearlessly, the idiot faced the crowd, smiling Merciless, the magistrate turns 'round, frowning And who's the fool who wears the crown? Go down in your own way And every day is the right day And as you rise above the fear lines in his brow You look down, hear the sound of the faces in the crowd Walk on, walk on with hope in your heart And you'll never walk alone You'll never walk alone Walk on, walk on with hope in your heart And you'll never walk alone You'll never walk alone...
@@mikeyb7263 "You'll Never Walk Alone" is a show tune from the 1945 Rodgers and Hammerstein musical Carousel. oddly enough I am a professional stagehand and I knew the floyds version first, you can imagine my surprise when we did the show the first time and I heard this song. And I also happen to be born in Liverpool in 1963 when Gerry had his hit with this.
