The tightest band on the road right now...Billy has his own music but has a playlist of 700+ songs that they play live...his live shows are an experience and a marathon for the band as they sometimes play 25-35 minutes straight of jam weaving from song to song

I would add Tedeschi Trucks Band to that list.

Hopefully my comments below contain enough substance to merit reading them and aren't "TLDR" material. Thank you so much for your approach to reacting! There is nothing more anti-climactic than watching one's favorite artists along with a reactor and then the reactor pauses the music right at a key point of the song. A lot of reactors seem to think that this is their moment to grab the limelight and that they're more interesting than the musicians and artists the viewer stopped by to enjoy along with the reactor. SOO vexing! I really liked how you took notes during the performance, without interrupting the music, and then provided the analysis at the end. When the perspectives that a reactor has to offer are interesting enough and valid enough, there will be no problem with viewers hanging on until the end to benefit from them. Your insights were excellent! I had a thought of 1 more technique you could implement, if you think it worthwhile, which would be to give the viewer a small hint at the general theme of what you're writing down. My thought is to do 2 things: #1 During your introduction, let the viewer know that you'll be writing down observations during the performance and a little 2 to 4 word title in the form of a "thought bubble" will pop up to give the viewer a clue of what you'll be talking about at the end. #2 The second thing is to actually provide those little thought bubbles while editing the video. An example might be that at 3:06 into your video a little thought bubble pops up that simply says "'Grandma's Love' in Musical Performances". I hope that was a positive contribution and keep up the great work!

My son introduced me to Mr. Strings’ music last weekend and I can’t stop watching and listening. That banjo banger reminds me a bit of Bela Fleck. All four of the players are completely off the chain. Just a phenomenal performance. Thanks for covering this.

He did a song with Willie Nelson called California sober. It’s very good.

If you haven't you should react to Billy Strings playing Dust in a Baggie as an 18 year old sitting on a couch at a party. He got to play it at the Opry later but that first raw performance is amazing.

Always enjoy watching folk enjoy Billy's masterful flat-picking. Especially thru this, his #PanteraBluegrass masterpiece! This is one of my favourite live music captures on the web. Superb. :) p.s. the excellent Michael Palmisano uploaded a great breakdown of this performance on his channel for anyone who'd like to know more. ;)

Billy always delivers, and this autobiographical song is brilliant.

Billy was in hardcore and metal bands growing up before going back and playing the music his step father taught him, bluegrass. A couple of months ago the band Tool asked him if he wanted to jump on stage and play a song with them in Utah and on March 22nd played an entire set with his friends band "Flesh And Blood Robot" It was their first show in 18 years and Billy asked if he could be the 2nd guitarist. So for 40 minutes he's up there playing metalcore, jumping around and thrashing. It was awesome seeing him hey back to his roots. He grew up playing in metal and hardcore bands. If you want to check it out search "Flesh And Blood Robot featuring Billy Strings" and a bunch of videos of the show will pop up. BUT the best video of the whole set was filmed front row right in front of Billy is on a RU-vid channel called "Been There Scene That Records"

I have definitely heard these lyrics before, but I don't think I have ever seen this video before. I'm thinking it was in a movie soundtrack, at least one.

You probably wouldn't think it to look at him but billy is a death metal fan. Cryptopsy are one of his favourites I believe.
