Speak it without saying a word. We’re all listening. Absolutely beautiful. Absolutely the best. Ever. The world has waited for something like this and it has finally arrived. You are a gift to us all. And we greatly appreciate you and your band. So happy to be able to watch and enjoy your journey to the top. Thank you for drowning out the ugliness in the world and bringing light to my life, dance to my feet, and joy to my soul. ❤️
Daisy May, I couldn't have said it better. This band right here has got IT. Jarrod Walker & Royal Masat are the perfect fit with the Billy's. Ticket to Black Mtn in Oct. Yay!
Dated a girl who worked and lived on site when Billy played at the Mishawaka. I asked what was like to see him at such an intimate magical place on the Poudre River with the Rocky Mountains setting the mood. She asked who Billy Strings was. We didn't last.
The quiet guy. Plays his banjo. let loose on this song. The solo that takes wings and soars. yes. Billy lets him fly. Its what makes this song. beautiful
Billy's phenomenal playing gets your attention. Then you realize he's also a good singer. But, at the end of the day, it's songwriting like this that may be his legacy.
@Jason Davis that's the thing, he has lived a thousand lives in one. Had his struggle with his demons, has had runs-in with the law, had a tough childhood...all that. :)
I’m 51 years old and I have liked bands, listened to albums over and over, and I have even gone to concerts - but I have never been as obsessed with a band and artist like this group and Billy - I live near Nashville so I am hopeful to see them live as it is the one bucket list item that I have right now - the only thing - thank you Billy and the boys for this past year
I agree 100%. I'm totally obsessed I just saw him Pittsburgh on the 11th, and the whole band blew my mind what talented musicians they are. A new age of bluegrass is upon us, Billy and the crew are leading the way! Keeping the roots, but also growing the leaves.
Yep,,,, very exceptional and addictive. Im your age and I get that hook in my mouth when finding guys like these,,,, if you want another one check out Old Crow Medicine Show, there another one that grabs your balls,,,,,
Of course they are still out there. the corporate media quit caring about talent 20 years ago. they make songs with 1 man and a computer. thanks to youtube talent is finding an audience again. mainstream music is commercial bullshit with a leftist agenda.
@@MoeSlislack Left-leaning? Since when have the corporate overlords of anything leaned left? The ruthless pursuit of profit is decidedly a conservative agenda. Best wishes, anyway, guy. Jeez.
My son introduced me to Billy Strings- I have caught myself listening all night long without concern of the fatigue the next morning! Absolutely love him and his band!
Loved this particular Billy Strings song when I first heard it. Listening again today with headphones on and just want to shout out Royal Masat on bass. Just rock solid here.
His name was changed to Billy Strings when he and his guitar strings married and became one, right? Seamless. Fluid. Smooth. One. He writes, sings, plays, and it’s like a love affair. Doesn’t get any better than Billy.
Billy Strings and his band are so great! Their music gives me Grateful Dead, Doc Watson and Mumford & Sons vibes all rolled into one! I am calling it out right now, I think Grateful Dead and Phish Fans are going to fall in love with Billy's music and they will start following him all over America when he tours!!! I saw The Grateful Dead in July of 1989 in Alpine Valley WI! Great show!!!
Phish fan here, just heard these guys a few days ago. You couldn’t be more right. Pure talent, first two songs I heard were watch it fall and everything’s the same. It’s intoxicating
If you turn the volume up slightly, close your eyes, the music will take you on a magical & beautiful journey. These guys are phenomenal. "They have tapped into the main nerve" "the vortex"
He’s got melodious qualities in his voice akin to Glenn Campbell, the technical facilities on guitar of Bryan Sutton, and the charisma of SRV, Hendrix or any other legendary rock star. Just pure joy.
I’m 25 and been nearly exclusively a metalhead since I was about 10. Discovered Billy Strings a couple of months ago and I don’t hear any music the same anywhere. Bluegrass is the only music that’s made me feel similar to the way metal makes me feel, and I’m a fan for life now.
Few people reach the status of legend. Even fewer reach that status while still living. You my friend are a living legend. Thanks for the music that has cheered my soul up. What you can do with a guitar is mind boggling. All the best Billy and here is to many more years listening to you.
So much to love here. When the current fad has been towards the incredibly simplistic and boring, these guys are positively symphonic. Their approach is like the underground westcoast rock bands and jazz of the 1960s jazz and even that first wave of alternative bluegrass and folk: complex, daring, playful, unique. Such freshness! Such talent! Definitely gets this soon to be 70-year-old man excited about new music again! I am truly happy for their young fans that they can experience this phenomenon in their best years. We had a blast in our day, now you guys get yours! Enjoy, then save the world!
Ahhhh, the banjo hits so well in this song. Not too fancy or flashy, it just hits that sweet spot. Maybe there is hope for us banjo pickers after all :)
I love this genre of music Billy strings and friends in a world of manufactured pop glad I found real music again all so talented come to Scotland we love you I'm putting the word out to whoever will listen thank you x
Helen, you nailed it. It's about artistry and being true to yourself. Glad he figured that out early. He's got an exciting future ahead of him. The best part is there is a cadre of other excellent young bluegrass artists that are joining the movement. It's going to be a lot of fun.
Definitely Helen, been lucky to have some buddies of Billy's up here in Shetland for our Folk Festival, this is the one I want to see most though! Likes of Molly Tuttle and Tommy Emmanuel, well worth your time if you want to see folk talent, it's ridiculous levels every year.
I listen to Billy every time I feel down. This music helps me remember that real talent is still out there. Keep playing, keep singing, and I will keep listening!!
If he did an album with the same textures and colors in the song 'tinfoil and turmoil', it would be a complete smash. That song is incredibly original and addictive, it puts you on the edge of your seat to see where he's going to take you on the musical journey you've embarked on
RENEWAL IS A BAD ASS ALBUM..EVERY SONG IS REALLY GOOD..FIRE ON MY TONGUE HIDE N SEEK THIS OLD WORLD RED DAISY..ICE BRIDES.IN THE MIRNING LIGHT..SOMETHING BOUT DOSEING IN A CABIN IN THE BACKWOODS
This is the song that touches a person's soul. It doesn't matter what walk of life someone comes from because the lyrics are so real and true. I enjoy all of Billy Strings music, everything he does is great but out of everything he does this song is by far my own personal favorite. Outstanding job Mr. Strings.
The Misch..I moved to Ft Fun in 1975..The Misch "had" a deck off the back of it..one day, it fell into the Podure river..Big Wally barr put a new one on there by himself..Wally was a BUILDER..He could work 4 by 12 foot dry wall onto a ceiling By Him Self !! Wally put the new deck back on the Misch and many of us enjoyed it for years..I remember my mom, a few pitchers of Margs, lots of hummingbirds, and mountain goats across the river entertaining us for hours, one afternoon..The Mish is about making memories..They were doing the ampitheatre as I was prepping to move east..I am so glad that it still works !!!
An absolute gem of a song! After growing up in a bluegrass household...this puts me beside myself! I wish you the very best, young man...thank you for bringing me back to my roots! Looking forward to your future and hopefully seeing you live one day!
And if I may add a tidbit...If you have ever been locked up (for any reason) or have been in the service and deployed overseas (peacetime or combat), this song captures the desperate question of a loved one that you just can’t talk to for reasons beyond your own control and beyond words of explanation. Well captured sorrow!
If a pictures worth 1000 words, then this is worth 1000 pictures! 60 yrs from now, you can open a time capsule and nothing will be able to match the precision and connectivity these 4 have on stage! Glad I am alive to enjoy this band in every city I possibly can!! #blindhounddesigns
i hve always been a big time metal fan. my roots are in bluegrass growing up with my grand dad. billy, your music and talent reach my soul.when you and marcus are together its absolutely amazing. thank you for bringing back this music and letting us feel this
First off, it's AMAZING that this is live. Even if it wasn't - it sounds like a band of older musicians that have been doing exactly this their whole lives and just gel together in addition to each individual's skill. OR it sounds like someone payed thousands of dollars in studio time to record each piece a hundred times to get it right. The fact that these are relatively young musicians at a live performance is just incredible. All that technical garbage aside, it's an awesome song and story! Strings and his band is the entire package and then some.
This song hits so close to home 😢 I was at Mondegreen this weekend with a close homie of mine. He’s been going through it for years with substance abuse and I’ve seen him hit countless walls. I never checked into see how he was doing until we were on a walk back to camp and I asked him how are you man? I’m here for you man. It’s okay to serve yourself, you’re not in this alone. You’ve got so much love and so much to live for. We/ I love you for you not all the BS. It meant a lot to him and me. then Billy dropped this video and it put a bow on the interaction. I love music and I love you.
This is/was excellent, I am blown away by the amount of young talent on that stage & Billy Strings 😮❤❤❤❤so good, have been obsessed with Billy’s Wharf Rat since last night. I can’t count how many times I’ve watched it 😅
Billy Strings is far beyond his years. Music has needed a few strong to carry the torch and You Billy are one of them. Thanks to the other band members. keep up the healing. You and All them witches are all I listen to these days, both are holding the torches
I say Godamn Billy all the time when I listen.I don't even know I'm gonna say it but Godamnit Billy .My heart is so light listening to him.Hugs from the super fan in Montana. My friends are saying Goddamnit Sandy thanks for the Billy hookup. I can't remember loving any sound more than this.I have been blessed to have a musical family and its not hard to appreciate this talent.Thank you God for Billy Strings.I'm finding lots of great artists on You Tube seriously a great time for music.
