Noctis this is a really helpful video mate I’ve learnt a load, Thanks a lot. I have a couple of first gen quick release BiLock that I now understand a lot more about. The key chart was really helpful as well. Thanks. I will be looking forward to the next part. Have a great week.
I can honestly say that was one of the most interesting vids I have seen for ages. Thank You. Perfect timing as well as I am expecting a small package from a friend in Oz containing Lockwood and BiLock locks. Not saying , I shall be able to pick them , mark you .......
Well, that's very kind of you. Thank you. Awesome that you have a little bit of Australia heading your way. BiLock and Lockwood are both nice to have and play with. Never say never, Roger, you'll crack whatever you set your mind to, in time.
Very cool video and I really appreciate the info. I don’t think there is any other video on the bi lock as detailed or useful. One day I hope to pick a gen one, just need to find one first!
Very kind. Will try to share more information at some point. I've given away 6 or more of them but not certain that people are willing to share. Most of what I get is given on the condition that I do not sell them or give them away. Others were obtained at full and painful retail price. There is not much I can do for you, in other words. If I end up with something that I can pass on, I'll let you know.
Great stuff mate learnt more about bilock in 14.34 than in the previous year poking them with sticks (don't see em too often here but still great to have the Owledge when they do rock up) TA!
That was an excellent and well explained video👌 I'm very early into my BiLock journey so this information is great, that pin chart you showed is very helpful, thanks. I have a 1st Gen Astra Oval which has 7 master pins which I want to replace, I have a few cams to source pins from so hoping that chart will come in handy👍😀✌️
Glad it was useful. Only 4 pin sizes so not hard to work it out. The trick will be sourcing enough pins from your other locks. Just ask if you need a hand with something.
You get the bonus challenge with Exclusive; picking it so that you can remove the core. There are two separate depths that the sidebars can retract to. The shallowest will get you the open and the deepest will get you to control.
@@NothingPicksLocks Mr Lockwood picked and gutted one a while back, so you can watch his video and take a peek at the insides. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-YaQOM8sFzrU.html
Oh, I didn't know that only the Locksmith held the QCC key... how did you get yours?... you must've robbed a Locksmith and demanded a QCC with a key !😆🍺🙋♂️
It is meant to ensure that only your locksmith works on your lock. The proper QCC keys have a white head with the letters "QCC" on it. I just applied a little Dremel magic to a standard key. :)
I bought a BiLock from SecuritySnobs. They gave me the white QCC key. They also sell QCC, so you can swap the cores out without the need of a locksmith.
Yes, I'm relying on new generation so I'm screwed.😦 Lol. I recall you telling me but good to see your demo. Well explained with differences. I was not bored at all but you can go back under your rock now as you say. Lol.😁🍺✌
Just remove the offending elements from the lock and the key and enjoy the stability. :) Or just let it fail and have some fun with a drill when the time comes. ;P I've only left one NG intact as an example. I just don't want or need the problems or the expense.
Glad it was useful. As with Medeco, it feels less weird over time and you eventually get to know exactly what a set pin feels like. Frankly, I think 1st Generation are better than the more recent offerings. They are certainly far more robust and less prone to failure. Wishing you success!
@@NoctisMotus thanks! I'm able to pick a five pin medeco but with the sixth pin in it no luck yet. I just bent the middle of my bilock..damnit! It looks like it will break soon. The pins on the right side of the lock wont bind, no matter in wich direction i pick and no matter how many times i try to pick the left side. I hope its because of my low skill and not a defect. The key works fine so it should be allright.
Buddy, absolutely great info! I definitely learned a thing or two.. or three or four, lol.. Im going to do a quick Bilock re key video thanks to your pins and key.. Now I can look like I know what I'm talking about, haha.. I'll link your video in my description :) I didnt know their was a J and K master pin.. Wow! And I thought mine was heavily mastered, haha So the 13 element only blocks the right sidebar?
Yeah, can you imagine a lock full of K's? Yikes! Yes, only the front part of the right-hand sidebar is blocked with New Gen's additional layer of protection.Thought your locks would already be pinned up and under attack. :) Glad you got something out of the video. Will try find time to do something better somewhere down the track. Cheers.
Hey Noctis.. Hope your doing well ! I had a question for you.. So, recently I got a new Bi-Lock.. A first gen QCC I believe.. I was wondering how you would go about modifying a operating key to be a QCC key... I know how they work, with the dimples (lets call them) alowing the ball berings to recess into them allowing room for the core to come out. Im just having trouble figureing out how I would drill them, and mostly where exactly to drill them.. Any help would be GREATLY Appreciated ! If you could do a video on it that would be even better, but I totally understand if your not up to that.. But like I said, any help at all would be awesome ! I think you have my e-mail. Anyway, hope you have a great week.. Take care buddy !
9:20 mark. You say there's no drill protect but that brass plug you're holding has a hole at the very head of the other pin chambers. You sure they weren't putting a ball bearing or a steel pin in that hole behind the plug's fascia?
That is a New Generation plug with a First Generation face plate and the hole that you see is for the 13th element. Due to problems with New Generation, I've reverted almost all of them back to First Generation. Of course, a steel pin at front and centre of the lock would still do nothing to protect the pins or the ball bearings from drilling. A method of drill protection was introduced with Exclusive.
@@two_tier_gary_rumain It slides out and a different profile can be put in, yes. Datagram and Jon King's paper, Beating the BiLock, is worth reading: www.lockpickingforensics.com/articles/bilock.pdf
