Your attention to detail and knowledge base is amazing, Gabe. All of your boots are gorgeous and well thought out. And, thanks for not having any twists in all of those laces. Twists in laces even drives me crazy. 🙂
Brother I being wanting to get a prospector with the moderate heel, do you feel much difference in arch ? Ican't do 55 or 67 but curiously the Bounty Hunter are like the 55 with moderate heel, and fit great. Is much pronounce the arch on your prospector RO? if not, I will buy one today! hahahaha
You should give it a try. The arch definitely doesn’t feel as pronounced on the Moderate heel. I think because the boot is sort of angled back. I would still say I prefer Moderate over Classic, but Classic is growing on me. For me the first pair of arch boots was hardest. After that I’ve become accustomed to it and no longer feels odd.
Drooling over that all-leather heel stack, really beautiful. Also appreciate your commentary on the cut top vs the standard or roled. A perfect pair all around. Curious if you're ever gonna try one with a toe cap lol definitely seems like you got your taste dialed in.
Not much of a cap toe guy honesty. It ends up making the toe look odd to me. But really I don’t like how it looks on sides where the stitchdown layers are.
I really appreciate this feedback. Glad others appreciate really diving into these products. I feel like their website doesn’t really get into some of the nuances well. In fact I might do a video going OCD on heel counters. They seem to have 3 kinds but don’t give you option to select. It seems to be more based off the build or a coin toss. Mainly I see logger heel counters which are longer and shorter, and they overlap both the quarters and the vamp on side. Then there is a “heritage” heel counter like what you see on Robert. What I’ve recently noticed is the Packer heel counter is also different than the “heritage” one. Neither overlap the quarters or camp, but the Packer one seems taller and thicker leather.
The half sole is a unique look. I had that on a order but changed it because it is better on a ladder to hit that rubber plus the heel height is the same but looks bigger because all that black from the full sole is gone, if that makes sense. It had a cowboy heel look to it. Do you have any bison leather boots or having any made
Ya for ladders you’d want two solid layers and rubber right up to the heel stack for sure. I agree the half sole makes the leather sole look larger. It’s a neat look. What’s strange is this is a 6 layer stack, which almost makes me think they used a packer stack in error. Classic is usually 5 stacks. Don’t own any bison boots. I like the look, but don’t think I could pull it off. Kinda wild looking.
