This is the recall letter from White River Marine
Service Bulletin TM-0044: Power Bimini Inspection
Condition: Possible Bimini Frame Concerns
Models Affected: Reata, Regency, and Suntracker Pontoons equipped with power bimini.
Out of an abundance of caution White River Marine Group issued a letter to all dealers and Sun Tracker, Regency, and Ranger Pontoon Boat customers regarding a potential defect of the powered bimini system. We have made significant progress in our investigation, working alongside our supplier and independent testing labs, to bring the following update.
There are 2 different slot widths which have been used with the handle that attaches to the motor actuator bracket to the bimini frame. The intended purpose of this slot is to accommodate the wiring system for the motor actuator.
A slot width of both 3/8" and 1/4" have been used in the motorized bimini application.
Upon field inspections, biminis with the 1/4" slot opening can be fully deployed and used at speeds no greater than 25mph.
If the slot measures 3/8" the unit must be in full down position until correction.
Full down postion. Install the bimini protective book. Press and hold down until the motors turn off. Max speed with boot on bimini is 65mph. Max speed with bimini off is 5mph.
