If you’re like me and find out too late that none of your mobile phones or tablets support Ethernet, this is going to save you from buying another phone. No ethernet support is common on devices like Xiaomi, Pocophone and Motorola.
No worries though, you can easily get Bimmercode to work with any laptop you have, even Macbooks with Windows installed. Even if you have a working phone, using a laptop might prove to be more efficient. Bimmercode connection errors with ENET using a phone will be fixed using a laptop. If your phone refuses to connect with ENET to Bimmercode and gives an error, use a laptop instead.

NOTE: You still need to buy Bimmercode / Bimmerlink. The method shown in this video is done with legal means and in no way supports custom .apk’s or bypassing paying for the software. Always buy the paid software you intend to use.

If you face problems, double check these: 1. ENET is selected in the app's options IN BOTH APPS. 2. Your LAN adapter is the only one that's enabled. Disable Wifi and any other adapters. 3. The IP settings are correct for the LAN adapter. 4. Your battery is not dead. Your ignition is on, engine NOT running. 5. If your battery is weak, use a minimum of 20A trickle charger. 6. Seatbelt is buckled so the ECU doesn't go to sleep. 7. You allowed the required permissions for the apps. 8. Your ENET (or USB adapter) cables aren't defective. 9. There is a good connection on the cables and nothing is loose. 10. The correct phone was selected in BlueStacks. 11. Your BMW supports the apps.

I followed all the points and bimmercode not found the adapter...., I can code with e-sys, then I think that the cable and connection is ok...., any other thing to check?

Thanks, you just saved me. Couldn't get esys to work and I had a coding job that I had to do immediately. Couldn't get enet cable to work with my Oneplus Nord 2 and had no other phone available either. Installed Bluestacks just as you showed and it worked great.

**NOTE** Having issues with BlueStacks NOT opening after turning your Internet OFF. (Win10 and Win11) 1. Uninstall BlueStacks both 5 and X 2. Turn you internet back on 3. Install the Offline Installer support.bluestacks.com/hc/en-us/articles/4402611273485-BlueStacks-5-offline-installer 4. Install Pie64 Bit from the instructions 5. Boot up BlueStacks 6. Open App Store (Make sure 2 factor authentication is off - BlueStacks doesn't send mobile phone push notifications) 7. Download Bimmercode 8. Open Bimmercode (with internet still on) so it can download the update it needs for the app 9. Close BlueStacks and turn OFF your Wifi (Disable in adapter settings just like the video instructed) 10. Make sure the ethernet adapter settings are the same as the video 11. Open BlueStacks back up and open Bimmercode 12. Make sure your OBD cable is connected to both the laptop and your car 13. Select ENET Cable 14. You are good to go

you dont need to change the IP address. Just leave it to obtain automatically and it will default to that when it doesnt get assigned an IP.

What about using a DCAN with standard USB (not ethernet) connection - is this possible, slow, but possible? If so, what is the set up on a PC?

Everything works, found my car, can read settings but when i change them save and want to code then i get message - error by coding.. what to do?? :(

Works in s10 plus, read manual in bimmercode, edit ip address, turn on ethernet in phone 👍👌

There's no device options for any phones. The only options under devices are Speakers, Microphone, and Camera.

Hi, im getting an error. Downloaded all and also have paid full version but when opening the bimmercode app after downloading from playstore it wants to download coding data, but probably cant connect to internet? But i have connection because i downloaded the app also LOL... Any idea what is wrong?

Hello Nico! Tried to connect with enet and usb c adapter to Android 10 Tablet. Set up all - static ip and enet in bimmercode app. Airplane mode. Wifi OFF and still have "The connection to the OBD Adapter failed. Please make sure.. " Tried to unplug and plug again, restarting tablet. Dont work. Can you help me? Thank you very much!

Are all ip settings correct? My method deals with using an Android emulator on PC since phones and tablets can be problematic. I've moved on to wireless adapters.
