Only if your battery dies. always hook car up to a battery charger. Especially when updating multiple modules. Otherwise no just follow how it’s done and you won’t have issue
I have the same year g30 and apple carplay for some reason is showing active on BimmerCode but I’m not seeing the Apple CarPlay selection on my head unit any advice for me thanks!
You need to select CarPlay under devices menu in idrive. Sometimes you have to unpair the phone with your car to get CarPlay working again. Did your car come with CarPlay?
my car did not come with CarPlay so I tried coding it in. It’s showing active on BimmerCode but can’t find appleCp on head unit I checked my software version I have NBTevo_ x20511I
That’s because you need an FSC code to activate Apple CarPlay. That’s a code that comes from BMW or you can google and try to buy it elsewhere. There’s also an option to activate CarPlay via USB where it basically patches your head unit with a fake FSC and let’s you use CarPlay but it’s only for some G30’s.

Is there way to do this without the computer? Like can you just use BimmerCode to do this without doing anything on a computer? Thanks in advance, video is very helpful
I have the same issue, my version is "NBTevo_N", and it requires "NBTevo_X” to update to Full screen mode. I reviewed all the steps you provided and it seems to be a lot. Is there any other way I can update? Any suggestions will help. Thank you
