Thank you so much for this informative video! How can one control for other factors when performing binary logisitic regression on spss? For example, if one wants to see if an IV (e.g., age) is predictive of falling into a target group after controlling for something else.

I am glad you liked it. One way to do it is to first run a model without controls and then run with control and see if the results change. If they do, the control variables have an impact on the outcome.

Thanks for watching. If one of them is acceptable, you can say it is quite acceptable. You do not need to create dummies for ordinal, but if you want to remove a category, this can be an option.

Thanks for watching. As for the use of Logit and Probit model, The logit model assumes a logistic distribution of errors, and the probit model assumes a normal distributed errors. These models, however, are not practical for cases when there are more than two cases, and the probit model is not easy to estimate (mathematically) for more than 4 to 5 choices.

Probability of falling into the target group is greater to the probability of falling into the non-target group. The Event is likely to occur. Look at the Beta value, if it is positive, the category 1 for the IV has a higher impact in comparison to the other category.

Hi! Thanks alot for such a wonderful explanation. If a study have two continuous variable i.e parental involvement, academic anxiety and outcome variable is academic achievement which is based on students previous two year result. How to fun regression for that?

Go for linear regression as marks will not be just 0 or 1 (They are not dichotomous)

Hi sir,i have a question if in independent variables which have some category like →literate variable category( 0,1) zero means illiterate and 1 means literate. and other variables have there own categories In this case i can use your simple method (Actually my english is not good maybe you can't understand my point if yes plz tell me)

Thank you But I have question while doing my thesis by multivariate binary logistic regression it works for some variables but not for others ( may be low sample size for these predictor variables) ; how can I proceed ? For bivariate logistic regression model it works

It is an excellent explanation of Binary Logistic Regression. Sir, please tell me if the value of Exp (B) came to 0.004 for a variable then how we interpret it. The result is sig .000. 95% CI (0.000 - 0.021)

Thanks. I am happy to know you liked it. This shows that the Probability of falling into the target group is Less to the probability of falling into the non-target group. The Event is unlikely to occur. We can say that the odds of a falling into the target group based on the factor are lower, with a 95% CI. of 0.000 to 0.021. The odds are significant, so based on the results, it is high likely that probability of not falling into the target group is high and significant.

I would be very grateful if you could advise how to run a binary logistic regression when there are categorical independent variables (eg gender) and ordinal scales (likert scales, household income etc.). Thank you

Thanks for your interest. The video does have noth categorical predictors and Ordinal variables. For Dichotomous or categorical variables, the assessment is based on reference category.
