@@user-uu2yx1zv5n well you can eat the fruit part of the lime, which will be very very sour, but you don't want to eat the rind, so you'd have to get rid of that. I don't know why he didn't eat at least the edible part, maybe he doesn't like sour much. As to the candied limes, yes absolutely! I'm actually surprised he didn't candy the limes lol

I made this pie a while ago and thought to candy them. They somehow became tougher and much more bitter. Have you ever had any luck with candying limes? I’d love to hear how you did it
@@liamdooley863 you can let them first in boiling water for like 3 minutes, so all the pectin is out, and then candying them... Or you can leave them more time candying

@@panzerofthelake506 Due to the grain's form: he explained in another video that a spoon of normal salt is much more than a spoon of kosher salt (and that's why I hate when people in recipes use volume measurements for things that should need mass :x )
I'm on the last episode of season 7, I didn't mind seasons 5 or 6, 6 being the better out of the two, 7 is good so far. My only gripe is the whole romance they tried to integrate between Deb and Dex.
Love this recipe! I love to freeze the pie (without the whipped cream), and then once frozen solid, I melt dark chocolate and dip them for dark chocolate key lime pie pops!

@@jackanderson6966 ayye dont you hate on Babish. The ONLY difference is Josh made the crust from scratch. But Better is focused on food that could be drastically better than what is served. On the occasions Babish doesn't make everything from scratch, he still makes some DAMN good food.

it's sad that most of the world don't respect us I often meet new opening restaurants who use to have many flavors for some kind of deserts, one of which is lemon oriented flavor, and it would be incredibly delicious, but after couple of months they usually take it away from the menu and just keep the classics like chocolate, caramel.. Edit: even big brands like Mcdonalds did the same in my home country :(((

The same custard made with lemon juice is my family recipe for lemon pie. Both lemon and key lime pie are properly finished with meringue from those leftover egg whites. And no zest or slices, which will just get nasty in the fridge. Really easy and serious yum factor.

Candied peels and such take on a darker appearance after being subjected to heat. In the clip it looks very bright in color. 100% they'd be better candied though.
