I wonder if the recipes saying to steam them for 6 minutes were for unrefrigerated eggs? I know they're the norm outside of North America, since they're not washed before they come to grocery stores. I feel like the difference in the temperature of the egg has to have made at least a little bit of a difference.
I don't think it's thick, just the flavoring substance was thick. But it goes down smooth like a regular soda, I imagine a cross between mountain dew and fruit punch
